So Conair, and a few other companies, make these things called 'Bob Makers' or 'Perfect Bobs'. They hide the length of your hair to make it look like you have a bob with a headband. They're just stretchy elastic with a plastic sliding piece, but they cost a few dollars and they can easily be made at home.
This will show you how to make a bob maker with just a stretchy headband. It's really easy, just takes a few seconds, and you can easily undo it!
What we're doing is making an overhand knot around the other side of the headband loop, there's probably a nice name for this, but I haven't found it. The knot will be able to slide up and down, making the loops on either end smaller and larger, just like a store-bought bob maker.

Here's our thin, stretchy headband laid out flat.

Cross the strands by twisting the right side towards you.

Stick your left hand fingers through the left loop.

Pull the top of the right loop through the left loop. Hold the right loop where the black line is with your right hand.

Now you can move the knot up and down the band to change the sizes of the loops as needed.

If you want to undo the bob maker and turn it back into a normal headband, just expand the loop until the knot pops off the end and undoes.
