Hello ladies! As I said in the title, my hair doesn't wave (after a wash) that much lately. It's been like this since I started using different conditioner one month ago. (it is organic just like my previous one so no cones etc). So, I just wanted to ask if this can be the reason? If not, what is it?

Perhaps there are ingredients in the new conditioner that your hair doesn't like even though it's organic. For example, coconut oil is organic, but my hair doesn't like it at all.

Well, I don't know. Everything else with my hair is just as usual except for the waves.. I'll have to use the conditioner and when it ends I'll buy the same as my previous one. This would take 3 months I guess. I just hope there isn't any other reason for this.

I find that how much my hair waves can change with different products, so it could be the new conditioner. I have a new mousse with castor oil it in and it seems heavy on my hair and pulls most of the wave out. Sometimes the weather affects how much my hair waves too, so it could also be something like that.

The new conditioner may be a bit too heavy for you.

I'd definitely clarify-wash and try changing up the conditioner.

Maybe I'm just being too obsessed with this..
Now, when I look at photos I can't see that much difference.

Anyways, thank you all!

Which conditioner? I'd love to find one that would make my waves go away.

Yes, I agree with DweamGoil! Conditioner is too heavy. Is your shampoo too heavy? Maybe try diluting both and see what happens. Also try and keep the hair as free of "stuff" as you can manage. All the stuff you put on it weighs it down (not saying that you put a lot of stuff on it...but everything that you put on your strands contributes to how well it "bounces" or in your case "waves".

I use only shampoo and conditioner on my hair. Nothing else. And no, I don't think there's a problem with my shampoo. I use it for a very long time and there was never a problem with it. Thank you for the advice, I'll try diluting them. :flower:

This.^ :)
Products really affect the way the wave pattern presents itself. If you want your old texture, you might want to consider going back to your previous conditioner or finding a conditioner with similar composition.

Hair changes for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes we never find out why. Observe

My hair is cut a little different, but I don't think that's what caused it. I've tried a lot of products over the years, and I really don't think that makes a lot of difference either, except that using coney products does make my hair more straight, but it's not a huge difference.

Wow! I have this problem lately with WO, if it's a problem at all! It just doesn't wave like it used to at all, it's very straight right after undoing a braid. I think it's because of the extra weight from the sebum in my hair that i'm no longer stripping from it :) Maybe your conditioner is heavy and weighs down your hair :)

In your now picture your hair looks either still damp or coated. If your hair was 100% dry in that pic, I'd say your new conditioner is too heavy for your hair and weighing down your curls. Do you notice the change only on the hair you condition on? For example, I only condition below ears.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes, MsPharoahMoan I think I notice the change only from ears down. I think next time I'll wash my hair with shampoo only and if it waves more, I'll be 100% sure the whole thing is because of the conditioner.

Would you mind telling which conditioner you used? I'd be in heaven if I could get rid of my waves on days I want to wear my hair down.

Where's that "wavy hair, why you no consistent" meme when you need it? ;)
