Hey guys, I was just surfing around online and ran across an article about why Native Americans kept their hair long. It's a rather interesting read:

http://www.whitewolfpack.com/2012/05/truth-about-hair-and-why-indians-would.html

And after you've read it.... do you feel like it's harder to sneak up on you when your hair is long? Do you feel physically or mentally weaker after a big haircut?

I've already read this article (or another with the same content) on another site and I really enjoyed it. ^^
It actually has changed how I think about my hair, simply because I like the thought that hair is more than just dead material.
I can't say that I feel weak after a big cut (my last was 4 months ago) but I almost always immediately regret it and feel like part of me is missing.
Maybe that's because I'm so used having long hair :)

Thanks for sharing, Trin. I've had several big cuts in my life. I cried the first time I went from SL to pixie b/c I felt so exposed. I kept it for about 6 years. My hair length has varied. I feel comfortable & mentally stronger when it's on the long side. My last big cut was last year. I felt mentally strong after that cut b/c I knew I was on my way to healthy hair. I don't know if my hair lengths have made a difference w/ my "sixth sense". What about you?

Eta: I read the thread that Panth shared, thanks. I don't believe everything I read. I think it's an interesting topic more b/c of the psychology than the Native American view point. I can see how someone from their culture would get offended reading the article.

Most of us on this forum are attached to long hair & the those of us w/ short hair are attached to the idea of it. Isn't that why we are here? How would it feel to cut it all off when it's all you've known? I know a few people who have cut off their hair & have yet to recover. Am I one of them?

Is it the one where you get super powers from hair? That one is completely made up.

Yep. I was going to say that I had already seen a thread about a very similar article here.
