I applied an essential oil blend for hair growth to my scalp last night and combed some of it through the length. This morning, my hair is super soft. I've noticed this before when I used this hair oil, so I thought I'd share with my LHC friends.
The base for this blend is safflower oil. There's a lot of info on hair care sites geared towards African American hair. I didn't find anything on using safflower oil on Caucasian hair, but I suspect that the principle is the same. All I can tell you is that safflower oil seems to absorb into my hair quickly, leaving less oily residue than coconut oil, jojoba (not an oil, I know), etc. It feels similar to Aveda's Dry Remedy Oil (http://www.aveda.com/product/5233/29379/Collections/Dry-RemedyTM/new-dry-remedy-daily-moisturizing-oil/index.tmpl), which I love. My hair feels more moisturized and less oily than it does when I use other oils. And, as I mentioned up front, it feels super soft.
Has anyone else used safflower oil on their hair? What was your experience?
It's cheap and it may be in your kitchen cabinet. :flower:
