View Full Version : Sigh, Naked Body Care goes out of business :(

It seems Naked Body Care has closed its doors for the final time, their website, facebook and twitter pages are no longer active.

Its very disappointing when a company closes, especially when my hair loves their shampoo and conditioner.

:violin::no:

Stock up while you can.

Oh no, really? I just bought one of their shampoos for the first time and I'm really liking it so far. I guess I'd better go to Boots and see if I can hoard a few bottles.

No! It's literally the only shampoo I've found that I'm not allergic to. :( time to stock up.

No! I just found their Kneehigh detangler shampoo!

I do have about six unopened bottles of Silky Jojoba conditioner that I bought from their website, though - I couldn't cope with the fragrance, and I'd probably be willing to part with them (swap for something?) if anyone wanted. : )

Nooooooooo!!! This can't be happening. They make my absolute favourite shampoo in the world. I haven't found anything even close to replace it with. :justy:

There might be hope! I've just seen a post on another UK forum from someone who contacted KMI Brands (the company who used to own Naked) herself - apparently they have sold the business to Boots. I know it's been struggling for a while - they have had to keep discontinuing popular products, etc. - so maybe this might be a good way forwards? I know I'm going to write to Boots, though, and let them know that I want them to keep stocking a wide range of Naked bodycare products (and NOT change the ingredients), so maybe that would be helpful?

I noticed Naked was out of stock/low in Boots yesterday, so I asked on Twitter, and Boots have confirmed that the range is being discontinued now.

Maybe you can order online? That it's no longer in Boots doesn't mean it's going away completely, just that it's not sold there anymore. Or is it more than that?

From the posts above it appears the brand was sold to Boots, and they are now discontinuing it, sadly.
I'll have to find a new favourite conditioner!

Seriously? They JUST started selling this brand at my drugstore and I'm LOVING it. :( Gosh, I'm so sad. Well, I guess I'll try out Calia now.... *sigh*

How is that even possible, unless it's backstock. :hmm:

Or didn't they discontinue it?

I have no idea! I just know that dm (a German drugstore) started stocking Naked shampoos and conditioner a couple months ago so I thought I'd give them a go because my scalp doesn't like coco-sulfates. I really like the one with the purple cap that's for sensitive scalp. Seeing as it's a 'natural' product, I won't hoard it, though, because it'll go bad eventually. :/
Naked's website is offline and the products are gone from the Boots website so I guess the brand is gone after all.

The only explanation that would make sense is someone else taking over the brand

I wouldn't mind that at all but wouldn't that be online somewhere? I mean, this is the current selection I could choose from:

I'm going to write the customer service a quick message. :) Maybe they have more information.

That should have made the news (business section). Has someone read more on this? I haven't but I'm all the way over here in Belgium.

Sending the customer service a message sounds like a good option... especially with a shop as customer-friendly and reliable as dm is :)

Alright, the CS finally responded. :) I didn't get a clear message out of the woman but she was assuring me that they'd have Naked products for a long time still and that they're actually coming to some dm "Mega Stores" in Austria.
No words of the brand being discontinued. This is kinda weird but I won't complain. :D I really like the sulfate-free shampoo!

Okay... so, thanks for sharing all the information you got and glad it seems like you still have some time to get the stuff :)

I also bought some Naked products at my local dm and I´m really liking them thus far! The buttermilk+green tea smells lovely! Hopefully they won´t discontinue it...

This is infuriating - I'm running low on my favourite ever conditioner, their Smooth & Silky, & can't find it anywhere.
