As you can see the picture in my signature didn't turn out that good. That was taken a while ago and I'd like to take a new one to see if anything has changed (it better has!). What is the best way to take a picture? In sunlight maybe? (only we haven't got any sunlight atm...) and what about colors of clothes, that black top in the siggie picture didn't help much (although it make my hair look like there was more of it :D)

Your hair is so dark you should use light coloured clothes if you want it to show up. Sunlight outdoors is of course nice, but it's not always possible. Then I find that pics indoors taken with flash is the best alternative and that's where the self timer can be handy. It helps a lot, I don't have to bend myself into weird positions to get length pictures in front of the mirror and I can use flash, since I don't have to use mirrors if I want to do it all by myself, which I usually do.

You could try a contrasting top and go out doors -even if it's not sunny you will get some natural light. Try indoors, too, you might get different results. There's no rule of thumb but a contrasting shirt is a good idea.

If you have someone to take pics of you, great. If not, find a sturdy piece of furniture and try the self timer. Learning how to photograph the back of one's head is like a rite of passage here LOL.

That's for sure......took me just the other day to figure out that my camera had a timer on it.....duh........had it for over 6 years.

With again no sun today, I just tried it out in daylight inside:

this one is the most accurate in color:

and finally the wispy ends are slowly thickening up, just very slowly :-(
