Interesting to know they used henna on their hair :) People have been covering up their greys for a really, really long time then!

I remember reading that during the Amarna period (at the times of the gorgeous Nefertiti!) even ordinary Egyptians wore wigs and extensions, even false beards and false eyebrows! Fake hair was extremely common and often worn over shaved heads (to make it easier to deal with lice and other problems).

I wonder what kind of fat (mentioned in this article) they used to keep hair in place. I knew they used plant oils, but animal fat would be interesting...
