Hey!
I've been living in a place where the water is pretty hard for a while now. The whole time I've been living here, my hair has been so bleh. Clarifying multiple times once in a while seemed to do nothing at all. And I just realized today--I probably need to chelate!
So, does anyone have any recs for a chelating shampoo? I've been looking at Sally Beauty and apparently the Ion brand has some hard water and swimmers shampoos, but I'm sure how they are. Are there any ingredients I should look for?

I really like Malibu C's hard water shampoo! It's sulfate-free so it's gentle, and it works really well!

I've used Aubrey Organics Swimmer's Shampoo. I purchased it in The Vitamin Shoppe. I was pleased w/ the results.

Joico, but it will remove absolutely everything, so I don't use it more than about once a year. Do a good conditioning after, and your hair will be clean as a whistle.

I also use the Malibu C hard water wellness. I use it on mine and the kids hair once a week. It works well for all of us.

I've been using Ultra Swim about once a week since June & really like it. Makes my hair clean without drying it out.

I don't want to hijack someone else's thread, but I have to ask: can Joico be used on color-treated hair? I too am in search of a chelating shampoo, but don't want it stripping my color. (I dye my silvers to match my very dark brown natural color, using a permanent chemical dye.)

ETA: clarification

Thanks, everyone! Joico it is. I'll get around to it eventually.

Personally, I use Redken's Hair Cleansing Cream. Works wonders for my hair over here in the UK. Picked up a bottle from a local salon little less than a year ago, and still have a bit over half the bottle left! :)

Pantene Aqua Light. According to meteor's post on this, works just fine for a little chelating and a little clarifying. And doesn't cost near as much.

Cool! A little goes a long way, just make sure you work it around your scalp and length. Let us know how it works for you! :)

I love JOICO K-Pak Clarifying/chelating Shampoo :crush:

It doesn't seem harsh for my fine silver, and I use Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrator Conditioner after.
