@Hele..yes, it's a medium Flexi! I usually don't wear it like that but I needed something to hold the mop back..otherwise you wouldn't see my face atall. I have a very close hairline.

Yes, cathair, a hair pool is when your hair sits in your lap. I didn't get it just right in the photo because I have such a short time on my camera timer then have to skedaddle to the chair..and hopefully arrange my hair "artfully". As you see, not quite on target.

This pic was quite a step up for me as I'm usually camera phobic because of my complexion, which is due to scleroderma leaving deposits of red several places on my face. I hate cosmetics so finally said to myself "The hell with it. I'm not here to decorate their world". I may look like an Appaloosa..but I'm a HAPPY Appaloosa!

I just tested this out and found that if I sit up completely straight, I have nothing. If I rest my forearms on my legs when cross-legged, I have a tiny puddle. Soon enough it'll be a pool! :)

Ok, my puddle is created by using a low slung chair and kinda slumping down a bit. And it is a puddle. Not a glorious river like Madora (oh! Madora! that hair!) or a totally legit hair lap pool like Neko.

Not-quite classic, tapered hair doing it's imitation of the kiddie pool my dog uses when it's hot.

Ok, I got a couple! (These are kinda tricky! Madora, I don't know how you managed to get such a good one!)

Hair pool plus hilariously displeased kitty... I've been trying to get a picture with her for the "show me your hair with your cats" thread, but she has been avoiding the camera because she's a cat and that's what she does. :laugh: I managed to grab her tonight but she was not thrilled.
My black cat made it clear he was having nothing to do with my silly hair pictures. :rolleyes: Maybe I'll get lucky in the future.

And here's an alternate view. My hair is really more of a stream than a pool. :) All the hair you can see here is my pre-LHC hair, and therefore Sun-In lightened, so it's a bit lighter than my natural color. (I do get a natural ombre from roots to tips, but the Sun-In made it more extreme.)
Oh yeah, and the kitty decided she wanted to sit near me, but not close enough to fit in frame... That's her toes. :kitten:

I thought it was going to be underwater photos! We should definitely have a thread for that too, mainly because I really want to pretend to be a mermaid but it will be at least a year until I can get proper underwater photos or even two years depending on when/ where I go away. And my then hopefully my hair will be long enough for a lap pool photo!

Sure! Why not! You might inspire others to jump in the pool too! Just as long as the pics are in line with LHC's terms of service!

Pool suggestions:

drape your pool in someone's lap
or drape your pool in your teddy's lap
or in your dolly's lap
or all over your collie..or kitty
but your hair has to have a little thickness to it..i.e. not just strands decorating (or filling) the object of your affection. How's that?

Thank you, Astrid! :flowers: It's a bit of both, actually. My hair's day 3 post-wash, down from a Gibraltar bun (well, moreso a LWB that's had the tail twisted a little bit to help containment). Without bunning, my hair forms natural sausage-ringlets on its own, so tends to remain boingy, and twists even more after the bun tail is released, making large, softly-curled ends (when I zhush out the single coil).

I think it's neat how different you can make your hair color look with the light! It's so shiny! My hair used to be orange on the ends from the sun before I cut it the first time. This time it's grown out and it's not orange-y at all. I guess I don't go out anymore...

Here are my mini water spouts? I hope I did it okay (I had to take a lot of pictures! I thought this would be an easier picture dealie since I didn't have to "guess" at what the picture would look like with a timer, and it's pretty anonymous, but it still was pretty hard to get a nice shot. I still had to hide messy/identifying areas of my house with strawberries, but I missed some parts. Sigh. You guys who post a lot of photos are amazing!! It's really hard work! I really appreciate it, though. I learn so much from pictures...like what bun I want to try, what kind of hair toy to day dream about, etc.). That is my lap...on my wrinkly dress. I did iron it, but it's been a whole day of everything and it looks wrinkly now...

I don't know why the picture's so big. I resized it to 1700 x 1275 on my computer, but it looks bigger than that. I have so many versions of it in the upload thing that I can't figure out which is which anymore...so I gave up. I'll try harder next picture... It's not very shiny looking...maybe because there's not much light today (it's cloudy)....but I have hard water...maybe I need a chelating shampoo like I read about in a couple other threads today. I didn't know hard water was hard on hair...so much to learn, so little time and money...:D

I think it's neat how different you can make your hair color look with the light! It's so shiny! My hair used to be orange on the ends from the sun before I cut it the first time. This time it's grown out and it's not orange-y at all. I guess I don't go out anymore...

I will try that next time I have to take my bun down when it's pulling and making my head ache-y. It's so that it doesn't get tangled, right? That's so smart! And it won't pull when you move! I've learned a lot of ways to have my hair down here. It's really neat! Thank you :)

Here are my mini water spouts? I hope I did it okay (I had to take a lot of pictures! I thought this would be an easier picture dealie since I didn't have to "guess" at what the picture would look like with a timer, and it's pretty anonymous, but it still was pretty hard to get a nice shot. I still had to hide messy/identifying areas of my house with strawberries, but I missed some parts. Sigh. You guys who post a lot of photos are amazing!! It's really hard work!
