I'm trying to figure out some film hairstyles and was wandering if some of you would like to play too :)

My first contestant is Clarice Orsini, wife to Lorenzo Medici in STARZ "Da Vinci's Demons" series. She's got some really beautiful hairstyles, and I think I like most the one she has in the last episode of the first season (s01e08) "The Lovers".

Clarice, portrayed by the stunning Lara Pulver, sports a rather intricate and ornamented updo

I can find side views, but I would have to make a still from the movie to see the back. Do you think it would be possible to make out what is that updo?

That's a beautiful hairdo! And her dress is great too :applause I made an action shot of a hairdo during watching a movie because I loved the actress' hair so much :o For this intricate 'do maybe they made two strand side lace braids, and braided them through the hair ornament. And then kept on making small two strand braids and pinned those.

She definitely has some sort of a hairrat on the back and then lots of the robe braids pinned on top of it. Beautiful hairdo :)

So what do you think? Rope braids, pinned plus accent rope braids?
think the golden thing is a tatted ornament...

I also think there is a rat used for that, but the actresses hair is about BSL as far as I know...

Ah the back looks like a rose bun or so? And I agree, with the rope braids on top of that.

Yep, I'd say lots of rope braids and a rose bun.

Incidentally, I think that whole bun is fake hair. It's smoother and darker than the rest of it. You can see how it reflects light differently.
