I currently have a blow dryer with a cool button, and it's been over a year since I last used it, but it has a cool button that I have to hold down the entire time I'm using the blow dryer if I want cold air. Are there any that have a cool switch instead of a button, so I could just switch to cool and have it stay there without having to hold down the button forever? It gets really uncomfortable for my poor thumbs, and although I'm fine with air drying now, I'm thinking that when my hair starts getting really long, it's going to take much longer to dry (currently takes like an hour and a half), so I might want to speed it up. :p

I have no idea where you live, that may help. I have one, bought at pretty much the cheapest shop one can find here Action, brand Impuls, cost me a whopping 11 dollars. It has a lowest setting that is lukewarm at best, you have to really try to feel the warmth because it is barely there. And then to top that it has a cool button, which isn't really necessary if you ask me.

They ARE out there :)

I don't know where you would find one. You could use a fan, though, instead.

I have an older Conair Ion Shine 1875. It has both a cool setting and a cool button. It also has a retractable cord. I really like it.

I've got one (like eadwine's, it has a lowest setting that's lukewarm, rather than truly cold) but given that you've not told us where you live I'm assuming you're probably in the US so that probably won't be any good to you. They do exist!

I have been thinking about getting one too. My hair is only APL, and it still take ages to dry. Minimum of two hours, but if I put it up, it just don't dry. And if I go to sleep with damp hair, even if I let it down, it is still damp in the morning. So it would be nice to shorten the drying time, and maybe even some times wash hair in the morning.

My mother said, that if I haven't got it by Christmas, she would buy it for me (me and my brother are both adults, so most of Christmas present in my family are not surprise).

There are such blow dryers, yes. I got one that has three settings: cool - warm - hot. You can try to google blowdryers with several settings, maybe this way you can find blowdryers who got a cool setting. Where do you live?

Just putting it on the lowest "heat" setting should generally be fine. If you can hold your hand in the airstream for a long time without it burning, it's okay to use on the hair. No reason to get paranoid about blow dryers. ;)

I bought one from a pharmacy was around £10 it has 3 heat settings, 3 power settings, a cool button and a little swith with a protect mode which basically jst blows cool air even when on the hghest heat, on the lowest heat the air blown is pretty icy.

I love my floor fan, MUCH faster than my now retired blow dryer.
