While I personally don't use Pantene, I think it's great when someone finds a product that works well for them. Congratulations on finding yours, some never do.

I wish we still had products like Ice Shine etc. Now it's pretty much just Classic care shampoo and Expert Collection products which are double the normal price (almost 10 € a bottle). Pantene has basically disappeared from the stores for some reason :( I think it was just two years ago, when the collection for normal-thick hair etc. launched but even those aren't sold anymore.

I used to love Beautiful Lengths, I stopped using it just because I like trying different products, but I always remember liking that line. :)

I used it ten years ago and loved it a lot.

I know my store doesn't keep too many Pantene products. I had a volume shampoo gave to me by a client at work it's before the big change in formulas this last time. I'm trying to find a conditioner to use with it in the Pantene line.

I used to love Beautiful Lengths, I stopped using it just because I like trying different products, but I always remember liking that line. :)

That's why I stopped using Pantene before and my local store would get rid of it for some reason.

I have their Aqua Light shampoo, which I *adore*, their volume shampoo, and I now also have their clarifying shampoo. All three shampoos are silicone free, which I like in a shampoo.

I have the leave-ins from the Naturefusion line. It's awesome! There are two kinds, I have both. Just used up one, now just started the other one and it's awesome as well. :)

I have their smoothing creme and it seems great so far. I got the last ones on the shelf at my local store so I'm thinking my store is doing away with the product.

There are a lot of products in the Pantene line so you're going to find a product you will like. Report back on what products you use and your results.

I love Pantene! I love the scents (Some of them kind of smell like Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant) and the way the conditioner detangles my hair and makes its slippery!

I adore their conditioners! My HG leave-in (the last step in the LOC method) is the split end repair keratin protection creme for normal-thick hair. It's been extremely difficult to find on the shelves. I'm going to stockpile a few backups by making an online purchase soon... that or find a new one.

Ahh! I love Pantene, both shampoo and conditioner "Suave y sedoso" which I suspect must be Sleek and Shine. :)
Although I use other products too, such as REVLON FLEX and Herbal Essences. Very occasionally, L'oreal.

I've never paid attention to the scent in comparison to secret clinical strength. You're right the conditioner gives beautiful slip power against tangles.

I have always loved Pantene, at the moment I have Ice Shine, Beautiful Lengths and Aqua Light in my bathroom.

Which one do you like the best? I've never tried aqua light but I've used old formula ice shine and loved it.

When I used it was the old formula in 08 and the shampoo was a clear color I thought that was strange and the smell was great. It lathers real well and rinses great. It made my hair clean at that time I shampooed everything. I loved the fact the fragrance would last all day.

Bear in mind that my scalp loves sulphates ... it is very effective and leaves my hair blonde-ish. Many other shampoos leave my hair kind of murky-looking or sticky... shudder:

It does a great job of removing coconut oil, too. I know it sounds stupid to use oil and then a harsh shampoo, but I think the coconut oil penetrates more than the shampoo, so hair is left stronger, but with no residue :cloud9:

Pantene is really nice. I used to use it, then was scared away from it by hairdressers telling me it was full of wax and would build up in my hair. Now I know that was a half-truth and that their salon products have the same 'cones in them and can also build up in my hair. I am still using up my current shampoo and trying out a bunch of different conditioners trying to decide which one will be my favorite.

I use Pantene Co-wash some of the time when I co-wash and love how soft it makes my hair. Like I said, still trying to figure out what I like best, so I'm experimenting with a lot of different products at the moment.

Thanks for starting this thread, jacqueline101! I find myself in the market for some new hair care products and was going to do a little shopping tomorrow. I've been using WEN since November. I don't have any complaints about it, really, except the high price tag. You've convinced me to give Pantene a try. I need something that gives slip as I'm prone to tangles in my fine hair. I promise to report back once I've tried it!

I remember Pantene being vilified in the salons. I thought at the time is was because it was a popular brand and we sold professional brands in the salon. I never saw any problems with anyones hair that used Pantene. Some of the salon products did leave buildup on the hair. Sebastion comes to mind as one of the worse at the time, although it was a very expensive salon product. 'When anyone asked me to reccomend a store brand I would reccomend Pantene based on the results I saw in the hair of the ones I knew that used it. I got a lot of flack for that in the salon, but my thought was whatever works.

I think it was because it was popular at the time. I always used salon brands myself, but not everyone could afford salon brands. I can't afford it now though. I still have left over shampoo from my shop and when I run out it will be store brands for me. I do think it was salons that started the rumors. I remember coworkers that said they were bad all the time and I asked them how they knew. I never got an answer that made sense. I won't bash a product without trying it. Not everyone is that way though.

Another pantene lover here.

I really like their aqua light shampoo, and daily moisture renewal conditioner/shampoo set. Currently using color preserve shine conditioner/shampoo set, and ya know, it's great, but moisture renewal does a bit more for me overall.

since using pantene shampoo and conditioner exclusively, I've noticed my hair needs far fewer trims.

It's strange that you mentioned your hair needing fewer trims my friend in high school that used Pantene Classic care said the same thing. I wonder if the moisture renewal conditioner would pair up with the volume shampoo I have. The shampoo is old formula with the blue cap. I had it gave to me.

Last night I used the Weekly Deep Cleansing shampoo with Mint Oil. I was hoping for a lot more tingling sensation on my scalp due to the menthol/mint oil. I really didn't notice anything, though. But that's ok. I will keep that one as a back up shampoo. I also used the Aqua Light conditioner and it was indeed light! Next wash day I'm going straight to the Ice Shine set. I think I need the extra slip that it will give me. Anway, my experiment was definitely NOT a fail. As my hair started to dry I noticed that my silver hair was super shiny! I think CO washing was dulling my strands. So I'm very happy with that discovery.

I love Pantene.
I use the classic care line. The 2 in 1 followed by the conditioner.
I have used the Beautiful Lengths line and loved it also.
I also recently tried one of the newer versions: the Repair and Protect.
And even though I like it, I prefer the others more.
I have tried so many different brands and had break outs
on my neck, back and shoulders. Sore, painful break outs.
I never had break outs like that as a teen so I knew it was the
shampoo and conditioner that I was using.
I also got scalp sores and crustiness from a popular line and
didn't realize until they went away with the Pantene that it wasn't
caused from that line. I thought I had developed a scalp condition.
Sulfate free make my hair sticky and dry.
Pantene is the only brand that doesn't break me out and gives me
silky, soft hair with lots of body.
P.S. hypersensitive, your hair is gorgeous. Pantene should
use your hair for an ad.

After so many break outs I think I pinned it down
to amodimethicone products. The cyclo cones
also cause problems.
I have no problem with dimethicone or bis-aminopropyl(unsure
of spelling) dimethicone, both used by Pantene.
Hopefully they don't start using the cheaper amodimethicone
or I will have to look for something else.
But for now I have had good results over a pretty long
length of time.
I sometimes try something new and when i'm left with
frizzy, dry hair as in the sulfate free products or the over-
powering fumes and extreme greasiness of the wen products
I come back to Pantene and say to myself, " why did I ever
try something else?"
Pantene has had a smear campaign against them for years
with people saying it contains floor wax and other lies.

I've never used Pantene, but I saw a very cheap bottle of its clarifying shampoo a few days ago and I didn't have a clarifying shampoo... I think I'm going to use it tonight 'cause my hair can use some clarification. I must admit that I'm a bit scared about it - I have been using SLS-free (and cone free) for years, so Pantene has this super evil reputation for me. We'll see. :)

Just be sure to condition well afterwards, and you'll be just fine. Even double conditioning after clarifying might be an option for you (see my signature).

People with long hair I think, have been afraid to admit they
use it.
So thank-you jacqueline for starting this thread.

You're welcome. I'm sorry about your product battles I'm
Lucky I don't have issues with products. I don't want Pantene to change a thing unless they would give me a discount.

It was a little drying, so thanks for the advice! I did CWC, and let the final conditioner sit for about 10 minutes. Afterwards, I put a little bit of coconut oil in my hair. Next time (which I hope does not come soon), I'll try WCC, because I think even a little bit more conditioning wouldn't hurt. However, it certainly did the job. :)

Yeah, my hair is definitely clean and shiny, yet not totally dried out. I only needed a really tiny bit of shampoo and the smell and lather were nice. I wouldn't want to use it very often though - it is a bit too harsh for my vulnerable hair... but well, that's the point of a clarifying shampoo right? :)

I used the Youth Protect 7 conditioner today. I'm not sure if this one has US equivalent but honestly, the ingredient list looks very similar to all Pantene conditioners'. And the scent and the consistency seems to be always the same.

First, I shampooed with Timotei Pure shampoo for normal to greasy hair and let the Pantene sit for 3 minutes. My hair felt really thick and heavy while I was rinsing it out. Didn't get any tangles but that's not unusual for me. After my hair was dry, it was light but not fluffy, soft and smooth. I think the smoothness is the reason why I love Pantene. I use sulfates and clarify/chelate every once in a while, so possible buildup isn't an issue for me. I'm happy, hair's happy, so

I too have noticed since using Pantene my hair doesn't need trimming as much :). My hair ends don't suffer dryness or break. I use to suffer terrible breakage. In the past one side of my hair would be see though. I sufferd and battled years trying everything to stop it. My hair now is completely full and no breakage now since using pantene. My Sig pic below shows the differnce.

I only wish I listened to my hair all them years ago instead of forcing different hair routines on myself. I use to think if I use Pantene my hair will fall out and be damaged. Even though my hair was healthy and shiny using it.

When I use to use baking soda routine I would think to myself... " My hairs falling out and snapping like twigs never mind it's natural my hair will grow long pretty!"
Facepalm myself lol  Silly me :) Never mind I've learnt ;)

I use the Pantene Weekly Deep Cleanse a couple times a month. It's been good to me so far. My DH swears by Pantene and won't use anything else on his hair and scalp. Right now he's using the Strong and Sleek. I have used it too and liked it. I've used the Ice Shine conditioner and liked it as well. Ive wanted to try the Curl Shaping Gel and am just waiting for a few products to finish in my current stash.

Back in the day when I use to believe Pantene was bad, The internet and hairdressers scared me off. I don't know why Pantene always seems to be in the firing line? Other companies never seem to get as much stick.

I have noticed however quite a turnaround on the views on Pantene I watch a lot of hair routine videos on YouTube and a lot of women use Pantene and have beautiful hair. I have seen more blogs talk positive about Pantene.

I'm no longer mad at me :) My hair has forgiven me lol I have indeed seen the Pantene holy light lol

I love this thread! Thank you so much for starting it, jacqueline101!
I read through all of the comments here and now feel so confirmed in using Pantene.
Pantene is just great for my hair! I use the "Glatt und Seidig" Conditioner (sorry that the name is german but I dont' know what it is called in the US/UK :hmm: )
I only use it every third wash because I'm still a little bit afraid of silicones but it does wonders to my hair! Not only is it sleek straight afterwards, it also shines and feels soooo soft and strong at the same time :D It's really a HG candidate!

Has anyone tried a cheap or store brand Pantene? I did years ago it was vitamin shampoo it was when Pantene was in the cylinder bottles. I gave a dollar for it at my local store. It was a two in one. I thought it would be great the smell was like dandruff shampoo and it was runny like water.

I have used a Pantene conditioner knockoff, from dollar general. It had a much stronger floral fragrance than real pantene, and didn't give quite as much shine. But it did detangle well.

I've enjoyed reading through this thread. At the moment I'm conefree, but I used to use Pantene and loved the smell! I mainly used the Always Smooth, Daily Moisture Renewal and Deep Fortifying lines. I also loved the Night Miracle serum, which made my ends nice and soft. I really should give it a go again, since my hair is funny about coconut oil sometimes. If I decide to go back to cones, Pantene would be my first choice :)

I think the company name I used was personal care. I had high hopes of it. This stuff was so bad it did clean of condition my hair let alone get the tangles out.

Excellent thread Jacqueline! :blossom:

I used to love and use Pantene through my twenties and into part of my thirties. A hairdresser kept telling me how bad it is and that it ruins hair..ranting about dryness and that it wouldn't bleach properly... I tried salon brands and didn't find them any better. My hair used to easily tangle and still does with certain brands. I spent a lot of money trying different brands, some were very good so I stuck to using these for a few years. Now in my late forties I am back to using Pantene and love it!

I have been using Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner for a couple of years now. Wonderful stuff :) I bought a bottle of Iceshine Conditioner after having read this thread. Sadly I didn't experience anything remarkable about the product but figure I should try it a few times in case ;)

I'm happy I inspired you to buy Pantene ice shine but I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. I don't get why salons and hair dressers make up wild claims about Pantene. That's a new one your hair won't bleach right. I know several people who use Pantene products and their hair bleached and dyes just fine. On the other hand I'm glad you found moisture renewal Pantene to be great.

I've been doing CWC, but decided to give your WCC a try and I love it. I've been doing it every time I use shampoo, but not when I'm co-washing. I'm just getting ready to make my 3rd healthy hair series video and I think I'm going to talk about conditioning twice, whether you CWCC or just WCC. It's a very effective technique to get the slip all the way through the hair. My hair is really soft now.

I am going shopping today and will be buying myself some more Pantene co-wash, but I think I'll venture back into the shampoo and conditioner, too. Sorry I haven't read the entire thread. Which line should I try?

Yes, it does provide excellent detangling qualities. I fear it may be a tad too heavy perhaps on shorter lengths, but... it's an experiment, however you look at it. I'm glad it works for you. I'm honored that you would talk about it, but then CC can always be done, no matter the method! :D

Aqua light and the clarifying one, even the volumizing one are ones I would particularly recommend to clarify with. And for the rest, I think I have a mishmash of whatever conditioner they make. Pantene is mostly on offer at our local discount store (love that)!

I haven't tried the volumizing set from Pantene. The bottle I had gave to me was from from the discontinued line. I'm currently using beautiful lengths set and I love it. I would like to warn you it does work fine on fine hair but if you use the nature fusion leave in I'd use very little on the ends. It does start to build up by the end of the week. I use truly natural shine serum over the leave in too.

My stash is down to only two shampoos, so it's time to try something new. Since I've stopped using henna I want to try something to add shine, so maybe the ice shine from Pantene would work good for me.

I've been using a Pantene detangler and don't remember it's exact name but it's a spray on detangler for after shampooing. It works great, even when I go crazy and use a million sprays it doesn't seem to build up. I have to clarify every couple of months anyway so a few 'cones don't scare me.

I'm off to Google Pantene....

So I am trying aqua light instead. It seems nice so far.

I myself only have experience with the Aqua Light shampoo, not the conditioner fearing it might be too light for me. Weightless formulas may tend to have lighter conditioners; makes sense.

Hmm, yes, I haven't tried pantene conditioners for a long time. This is just the shampoo. I have to be careful with conditioner because my canopy needs heavy stuff or it floats away! Now it's longer, though, I'm considering cones again for detangling help. Any good ones?

 I'm considering doing one round of conditioner with cone-free and another with a light coney one. Even though that breaks my three-bottles-only-in-the-shower rule.

I've used Pantene off and on a few times and loved it. I think I gave it because I was looking for a cheaper product. In my search for a cheap product I found some that were good but not Pantene good.

I ordered the Pantene Ice Shine shampoo. I read the reviews on drugstore.com and most were very positive. One person said it was too harsh but she didn't mention how often she shampooed her hair.

One reviewer even said it made her gray hair shine, and that's exactly what I am looking for! It's on sale at drugstore.com if you check the boxes under the price you get a dollar off. Plus for just $2 more you get the double size bottle. So I think it came to $5.99 for 24 oz. (I think)

I order almost everything online. It's easier to decide in the comfort of my own home sitting down at the computer. I can't usually read labels on bottles even with my glasses on!

When Ice Shine arrives I'll have just 3 shampoos. Neutrogena Residue (for clarifying) and One N Only from Sally's that's no sulfates and is good for using when my hair isn't super oily/dirty and the Ice Shine.

Don't even ask how many conditioners I have!!!! I don't even know lol.

Could more coarser and/or wurlies weigh in on how Pantene works for them? This thread is making me want to try it again, but most people who are posting seem to have more straighter hair and with a finer/medium texture. However, I don't want to try something that might weigh down my waves and wurls too much (however, less frizz is always appreciated!)

It's open to everyone. I would love different input from different people with different hair types. There is an aqua light one that might be good to try another curly or wavy used it.

I have F hair, not C, but my hair is a wavy texture. I do WCC with the pantene shampoos because it is a harsh cleanser (need to because of SD) and I need the moisture of double conditioning. It's perfect.

i basically have the same hairtype as you and i have to say that for me, Pantene does not work well at all. The waxy silicones just make my coarse hair feel rough and the sulfates completely strip it and make the scalp feel 'squeaky'. it really is not good for my hair. i would however recommend Organix Sea Mineral Moisture Shampoo.

I'm a 2C M/C wurlie girly :). I use Pantene sleek s&c. My waves/ curls are more relaxed using it but it helps the frizz for me. So I'm happy to give up more defined curls. However it doesn't weigh my hair down much. My hair is very happy with pantene. But every hair is different. Hope this helps.

I thought I'd experiment with cones as I'm getting tangles, so tried the least-coney coney conditioner I could find (Total Fullness, it just has bis-aminopropyl dimethicone).

Well. I now have volume in spades, but in a straight-fuzzy brushed-out waves kind of way, and it's much more tangly than after my usual conditioner :silly:

Maybe this info helps people with similar hair to me (it's F/M/C mix, mostly M/C) For now, I'll stick with my usual cone-free conditioner and try that Chi silk serum stuff instead.

Still a fan of Pantene shampoos though. The aqua light is nearly as good as my beloved ice shine (which I can't get hold of for some reason at the moment).

I love my new Ice Shine shampoo! I like how it cleans, I only need to lather and rinse once, unless I pre-oil. It's hard to tell if it has added shine because my hair is fairly shiny already. But I like the smell, it's not a strong smell at all and I get tired of everything smelling like coconut. This shampoo has a subtle, clean smell.

I also love the Overnight Miracle Serum. It isn't just a silicone detangler. You put it on your ends before bed and then in the morning it has soaked into the hair and up the hair shaft a few inches. It takes out all the frizz, the static, the dry brittle feeling ends! I went from thinking How much should I trim to I don't need a trim at all.

Thanks Jacqueline for starting this thread. You helped me discover a great shampoo and leave-in serum!

I really like the Overnight Miracle Repair Serum. Since using it my hair hasn't been breaking as much and my hair length has increased already.

I use it every night on the last few inches of my hair and then braid it up while the product is still damp. It helps keep my hair in the braid and in the morning my ends are not dry like they used to be.

The Ice Shine shampoo is good to use every other shampoo I think. It cleans well and I only have to shampoo and rinse once instead of twice like non sulphate shampoos.

Yes, it's very nice to find homes for your unwanted stuff. My answer is as simple as telling a kid to come here and put this in your shower. It gets used up really quick that way.

Damien is a donation person. I have to watch him to make sure he doesn't pack up my whole home.

Have you considered braiding it but not tying it off and then covering it with your sleep cap? I do that at night, or if I tie it off at all I use a soft scrunchie or terrycloth type of tie.

I'm going to try the scrunchi because the last time I used elastics and my frail ends got broke. I use my sleep cap so much admire put them on my bedside table.

Ughh! Another cosmetologist informed the world of FB yesterday that Pantene is the devil (not in so many words, but that's essentially what she said). I don't understand. Salon shampoos have SLS and SLES, too. Salon conditioners have silicones, too! Pantene is no worse than anything I have ever purchased from a salon and I'm not wasting $20-$30 a liter for salon products anymore. It's ridiculous when the ingredients are the SAME!

I really love Ice Shine. I've used it three times now and each time I am AMAZED at the shine in my hair. It glows! I only use shampoo once a week, but I really look forward to having that weekly amazing shine. In between I am co-washing with various co-washes, but I'm very fond of my Pantene Co-wash. I think when I finish the other co-wash conditioners I've already bought I'll keep going back to get more Pantene because it is the least expensive and it works so well. It's nice to be narrowing down what works for me at the least amount of cost. I still have a few more conditioners I need to try a few more times to know for sure what works best on non-shampoo days. I've narrowed down the protein-containing conditioner I think I like best: mane n tail. I need to figure out which coney conditioner is my favorite and which humectant conditioner is my favorite. I also need to figure out which conditioner I like best in my SMT. I hope I get it all figured out in the next year so that TBL and beyond will not have so much experimentation and so many products to try in my cabinet.

Yes, I agree. Do plenty of experimenting *now* rather than when your hair is longer (it gets more difficult with length, IMO). I did all my experimenting when I wasn't even BSL yet. With plenty of dye, but I'm just not going to mention that disaster! ;) :D

And salon brands aren't better, on the contrary. They're just more expensive, that's all.

Agreed on both points. I'm only at hip, but there is a difference between dealing with MBL and hip length hair. Makes me wish I was more aggressive in experimenting with products and growth experiments at BSL or shorter! And yes, salon products are just money burners. The ingredients are very similar, if not the exact same stuff. I don't get better results from salon products, and I have tried a LOT of them (when I was MBL before my pixie, and since the pixie until about MBL again).

I find that scrunchies can get uncomfortable if you end up laying on them though, and that can cause them to slide off.

Thank you for the complement! It will be interesting to see how my roots will look now that I've stopped using henna. Probably not nearly as shinny. I like my crazy silvers though! They kind of grow their own way, this way and that. I'm thinking with Ice Shine we won't need to clarify much if at all because it cleans so well.

Shampooed with Ice Shine again on Friday, but I only conditioned once instead of twice. My hair wasn't quite as shiny this time around. Last week I used two conditioners after shampooing... Mane n Tail followed by Pantene Ice Shine. It was GLOWING after that combination. Maybe the little bit of protein in the Mane n Tail helped fill in the cuticle and then the Ice Shine on top of it made it brilliant.

Maybe you'll like the newer, still available items just as much, or one of the discontinued ones will end up at a discount store.

I ended up going to several Ocean State Job Lots in my area over the weekend & they had lots of Pantene items. The clarifying shampoo I bought a few months ago was no where to be found. I thought Aqua Light or Ice Shine would be fine for a substitute, but then I noticed both contain 'Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride', which will not do for clarifying so I did not buy those. My sister has the new "detox" one, so I tried it and it's fine, but I preferred the one without the mint oil. But then I remembered there was one more store I forgot to check, and sure enough there were 3 clarifying shampoos off to the side, shuffled in with other items, and I grabbed them. Yay! I did not see a lot of styling products during my travels, though, mostly shampoos and conditioners, including Nature Fusion. I saw the regular conditioner, but not the leave- in. Hopefully it might turn up for you in your area if it's been recently discontinued.

That's the excuse I'd give my DH if I wanted puppies and kittens! I'm in the city and people think I have a lot of animals, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 1 turtle, and misc pond fish.

I can't care for another animal properly, and really don't have time to train another dog. I love my dog and she is awesome, but it was a LOT OF WORK to train a puppy into being an awesome dog. It's an accomplishment. I don't feel up to repeating it right now though, lol! I'm actually going to whittle down my chickens to about 65-ish. Some of those hens are old ladies and need to go to the stew pot.

Okay, back on topic... I used Pantene's co-wash on Monday and my hair is still clean today. I can't use a co-wash all the time or my scalp gets pimply. When I finish with the myriad of other co-washes I've bought, Pantene will be the one remaining in my shower. :)

Pantene does NOT love animals. Pantene participates in animal testing, and they also use animal products in their products - not byproducts, but ingredients that require the animal to be dead to harvest like keratin. If you really love animals, I would rethink using this brand.

Thousands of animals are euthanized every year by humane societies. I'm sure there are plenty of dead ones for them to collect whatever they need from dead animals.

Animal testing doesn't bother me, ethically speaking. I think we should learn what we can from animals, and try to offset any negative consequences of our experiments, or humanely put the animal down if the negative consequences cannot be reversed. In my mind an animal life is not as important as a human life. I would much rather see testing done on animals than on humans. I love my furry pets and livestock, but they are not as important to me as my children.

LauraLongLocks & Swearnsue- that's awesome how many animals you guys have. When I was a little girl my grandmother had chickens, I was always afraid to take an egg from them, I thought they would peck me. I was a chicken around the chickens :). At the moment I have one cat & one dog, but I like to go to my sister's, who has quite a few cats and a frog. If it gets too noisy in the house, the frog yells at them.

Anyone try the Pantene heat serum? I can't find it locally and might order it online, but I was hoping someone could tell me about it. I was hoping for a more liquidy serum that smells like the regular shampoo from this line.

Hi Renia, you were right to be chicken around the chickens, they can give vicious pecks. My husband was in the coop once, wearing shorts, and he had a mole on his leg. That is irresistible to hens and one of them, named Snooky, gave that mole a terrible peck! I thought it was funny and so did the dermatologist when he told her about why the mole was bleeding. (Honestly doctor, it's not a precancerous mole, it is bleeding because Snooky the laying hen pecked it)

Back on topic: I used to give my hens baths but didn't use Pantene on them but they would have appreciated having shiny feathers. This was a few years ago, but I don't think I used any kind of shampoo or soap, just warm water which makes them fall asleep btw.

I don't have the heat serum, but I've been using the Overnight Miracle Serum and like it a lot. At night before putting my hair up or into a sleep cap I put a pump or two onto my ends and up a few inches. In the morning my ends are moisturized but not oily or heavy. And it smells very nice too.

swearnsue-hahahahaha about your poor husband being pecked by the hen. That really is hilarious! I knew my grandmother's chickens were giving me the evil eye, my instincts were correct to stay away. http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/birds/escaping-chick-smiley-emoticon.gif (http://www.sherv.net/)

So I went to a Walmart that has a whole bunch of stuff. One of those that has so much in stock you end up standing there for 5 minutes trying to decide what to get, because now there are all of these things in front of you that you hadn't thought of. They had both the overnight serum and the heat protector, and I did end up going with the heat protector. It is liquidy & it does smell like the regular shampoo line. I forgot how much I do like the current scent of Pantene, and now that jacqueline101 got me hooked on it :), I wanted something to use to catch whiffs of it during the day. I just used some & it's rather light and not greasy, just enough for my hair type. Eventually I might go back & try the overnight serum as well, that sounds nice. Sally's makes one that I liked, but I wasn't crazy about the scent & it bugged me when I was trying to sleep. Pantene is much nicer.

I'm glad to know I helped you. I keep hinting to kovacs my local store about expanding their hair product line. I wrote it on a deal at the front door. I used to go to Sally but I can't afford them anymore.

I'm a Pantene convert! Ice Shine is one of the only conditioners that covers the hay-like smell the first few days after henna-ing.

I think I'm a Pantene convert. I made the switch to natural, gentle products for my skin since everything breaks me out in a rash. Sulphates and silicones work well for my hair, but my skin wasn't having it. Unfortunately, even with all natural (and unscented!) products, I still got rashes. Not only that, but my hair just never looked or felt like it used to. So, I decided that if I'm going to be breaking out into rashes anyway, I'd rather have my hair look good.

I got the Beautiful Lengths set at CVS and used it today. I didn't get anymore rashes than normal so that's good. We'll see how my hair looks when it dries.

There's not a huge difference in my hair (though I've only used it once and didn't WCC like I usually do), but it's enough that I'll keep using it. My hair is a little shinier than normal and a little softer than normal. It's still poofy and big, but that's what happens when you comb wavy hair. I have to admit that I'm impressed with how my hair actually stays detangled now though. Before I was using cones, I'd detangle my hair only for it to be in knots mere minutes later. It's been a couple hours now and I can still run my fingers through it without them getting caught on knots.

Next time I'll definitely WCC. I also really would like to stick with pantene as it's a lot friendlier on my budget than my all natural stuff was. I can get both the shampoo and conditioner for less than the price of my old shampoo. I also get more product.

I just might give Pantene Ice Shine a shot! I have lots of conditioner to get through currently, so it'll be a while, but I'm happy to see so many people enjoying it!

Yep, that's what I love about Pantene. I can get 500ml bottles of shampoo from our local discount store for €1.69 - amazing! :)

I'm glad it worked for you. Please stay on the Pantene thread.

I've found another Pantene product that I like a lot. It's Pantene Anti-Breakage Detangler for fine hair. I actually bought it months ago but just rediscovered it in the back of the cabinet.

Now that my hair is getting a bit longer, I need the detangler (a silicone spray) to help comb out damp hair. I generously sprayed my damp hair and finger combed it through. I was able to then braid my hair without any bad tangles and just a few little snags.

It has a nice subtle scent.

I started to buy it but never. I'm going to keep it in mind when I use up my other detangler. I've a lot I bought in the dollar section at the store. I'm still trying to use up my product hoard.

I have been using Tresseme's Split End repair detangler. It has protein and silicones in it. Is that similar to the Pantene one you found? I wonder what the price difference is between the two. Tresseme is fine for the detangling. I don't know if the protein in it is helping with my splits really, because I'm attacking splits with several different methods. S&D, microtrimming, deep conditioning, and protein conditioner 1-2x a week, plus the Tresseme stuff.

I looks like they discontinued the anti breakage spray from their line. Now they have just the shampoo, conditioner and combo. But while looking on the Pantene website I found the next product I want to try. It's the Renew and Repair detangler spray. Now I'll have to use up this old stuff so I can try the new.

I don't know which has protein in it. It's something I SHOULD know, because it's important. I'm not very technical, if it's cheap and smells good I like it. LOL.
