wow, I can't believe it's been a year since I've been able to post on here :)

I have lurked for quiet a while because I wasn't able to post since January when I originally signed up - so I think it's fair to treat August as the month when I ''officially'' became a member ;)

LHC has taught me so much - especially with the treating my hair like antique lace (although I've been wearing it down a little more frequently lately...). Because of that my slowly growing hair is now the longest it has ever been in my life! I actually thought that my fine hair was too fragile to be able to grow long but it is here that I learned that this is completely untrue.

Here are my anniversary photos:

I have wanted to take a similar picture to the one that has been in my siggy for the last year - it took me days to finally be able to take a photo with the right light conditions hehe [it was raining..] :)
To be honest, I don't think my hair looks its best in these lighting conditions (kinda looks messy) but I like how it brings out the henna coppery-ness - which is slowly but surely growing out (current virgin colour length status: earlobe length).

I hope I will be able to celebrate WL this time next year! :D

Your hair is beautiful. And your pictures are encouraging. I recently chopped mine to the same length as your first picture, and I hope to grow it to the length of your second picture! :P Thanks for sharing and happy 1 year anniversary :)

Dropping in to wish you a happy 1 year, and to say your username makes me smile as I LOVE gooseberries. I miss them so much. They were outlawed in the USA in the early 20th century due to getting the blame for some kind of pest which damages pine trees. Then when the ban was lifted many states didn't bother to un-ban them. I just spent some time in Germany where there were gooseberries growing in the garden. I made the most of that. I think this is why I can't get black and red currants here either.

Good progress on the hairgrowth!

Thank you so much everyone for the nice comments :D I wish my hair grew a bit faster - but don't we all wish that? :)

MsBubbles! WHAT??? No gooseberries in the US, that's scandalous! I also love them but I haven't had them in ages - but they do remind me of my childhood and my grandma's huge garden where I would stuff my belly with gooseberries, redcurrant, white currant and raspberries in the summer and drink lots of mint tea made of fresh mint. Good times... :)

But stachelbeere could also translate to 'thorny berry' which became my adolescent Internet nick :P how 'rebelious' of me :P
