The only reason I have noticed this is because i dye my roots with henna, so my white hairs are recognizeable. But that's not my issue. . . I have this one white hair, normal thickness, and all, but the two times it's come white, it only grows like 4-5 inches and stops growing. IT's not broken, cuz, damaged, it just stops needing root touch-ups. and it's behind my bang area, so it's not exactly "edges" area. I'm sure I have other hairs like this, but I just wonder, is there something wrong with such hairs that have such a short terminal length, and are in the "thick" of your hair??? Seems kind of odd to me.
