:waving: Hey there! I am Katie & 20. I have been lurking around here from quite awhileeee.
Mid last year i took the plunge and had the "big chop". My hair was just below my waist, and i had it chopped to SL. Years of suffering with an eating disorder(s) really took its toll on my hair. Anyway......FINALLY i reached BSL a few months back :D (Had an .5/inch took off yesterday - yucky ends!).
I am serial backcomber (yes i know! i apologise ;) ) .....those teen years jeeesh :p! I used to look after my hair so well, it was my pride & joy (literally!). I began to use it as a security blanket and hide myself behind my hair - sounds a tad silly i know! I'm trying to gradually reduce how much i backcomb, just because i hate how i look without that volume (getting past those self esteem barriers!) and i look so strange without that "oomph" (after 5 years of doing it, it is taking some adjusting!). However, reading through the forums, i find it so inspiring! Thank you :)

Rambles & life story over! Hope you all have a nice day/evening :D

Hello and welcome! ^_^
I'm sure you will get used to going without the back combing. I like to use a little aloe vera gel on my roots for a bit of oomph. Happy growing~

I think you will get used to less volume hopefully in no time :) in highschool I could never put my hair back without backcombing, hairspraying and poofing up my hair first. When I stopped I, thought my head looked weird, but now I am used to it, it just takes time :)
Happy growing!!
