Has anyone used these? I've wanted to try these humongous clips for years. The reviews I've found have been less than stellar, but I just love the way they look.

Me neither - I was wondering if it was real or not, lol.

Hmmm....I'm skeptical. The photo just looks....off.

I think that looks ridiculous.... :hmm: What would be the purpose of a gigantic clip like that? It just looks disproportionate to that model's head.

The photo might be fabricated but they do make huuuuuge clips. I do not know if they are exactly that big but they are comically big

They are actually huge. I saw someone wearing one last summer. It looked fabulous. She had an updo/curly dark hair so it seemed less like it were photoshopped onto her head and more compositionally... as well as structurally sound.

As far it looking ridiculous/comical, that's part of both its concept and appeal. but yeah I don't think it's styled in a way that is flattering to either the model or the product on the e-commerce site.

Does it just slide in like a bobby pin? or is it a hinged clip? I'd be worried about it ripping out my hair. It's definitely a statement piece though!!

That is gigantic! I use similar clips in smaller sizes which I regularly use to clip short hairs back.

I think it works like a giant snap barrette.

I've been tempted by them too, but have read the reviews. Mostly complaints about the finish chipping off, but also a few sharp edges mentioned too.

I hate big clips like that. My hair always snags in the small corner where the two pieces of metal fold over and it hurts to get out.

Then you have to clip it back closed before you pull it out. I wear the small ones to clip my bangs back as they grow out, and sometimes a hair gets caught. Don't pull, just click closed again and it comes right out.
