Here's my original thread:

My last haircut was May(ish) 2014, where my hair was shorn super short. I let it grow out a bit until last August, when I decided I'd let it grow out completely - no cut, no color for one year. I've almost made it on the timeframe (I'm about 3 days away), but with no plans to cut it, I think it's safe to say I'll achieve my goals. I sun-lightened it quite a bit, and last week used some sun-in, so I suppose you could say I broke that rule. . . but the whole point of the experiment was to determine if I liked my natural hair color enough to keep it. I don't!
Here are the updated photos, starting with the original - from the day I decided not to cut or dye it again:

To field the a couple of the questions I can foresee coming, my routine has varied. Moderate to little heat, washes between 2-4 weeks, CO-washing in between and lots of WO washes. I love it after four weeks with no shampoo, there's no frizz and it curls beautifully. I kept the front pinned up to avoid the inevitable mullet and invested in headbands and hairpins. I kept it curly to try to minimize the stupid hair, but still got plenty of not so nice comments at work. Not trimming the mullet and allowing it grow out has achieved the shoulder length I wanted MUCH faster, and allowed me to do ponytails this June. It also gave the illusion of much longer hair in a half-up. I'm now a firm believer in making friends with the mullet.
Otherwise, go for any questions! LOL. I have all sorts of progress pics if there are any other shorties considering going this way.
I owe you all a huge thank you for all your input, entertainment, advice, experiences, photos, and suggestions. You ladies are wonderful, and if not for you, I'd still be stuck in my cycle of dye + cut. I can't say my hair wont be dyed in the future - I want dirty blonde, the fiance is voting for Henna red because he doesn't realize I have to do more bleaching and and dyeing to get there. But my hair wont be shorter than it is right now for a long, long time.
