Does anyone else do a LWB this way? I push the stick THROUGH the other side of the loop, instead of out the other side of the Center. I find it holds better and more comfortably, easily all day.

Yep. I'm wearing one that way today.

Only thing is I need to twist the outer loop a little. Otherwise, wisps of hair that aren't behind the stick/fork/whatever tend to fall out.

I twist mine a little too, but it seems to require less twisting as my hair gets longer/more tapered. I put ficcares in this way too, and flexis if they're XL. For some reason a bun this way seems a lot more stable/balanced/even weight distribution than a center held bun.

I do it that way too sometimes!

So that's how to get rid of that stupid wispy bit, ahhhh thanks!

I do mine like that, except more vertical than horizontal (the whole bun).

That's generally how I wear it.

Sometimes my stick or fork just ends up in the last loop instead of the center. Your tools have to be pretty bendy and your LWB is going to end up really tight if you end up going through the very center perfectly.

Alternatively, you make the LWB looser. I learned with some relatively fragile hairtoys, so I don't torque my buns.

Yes! I also find my LWB to hold more securely with pushing my hairstick through the hair on the other side of the bun. Btw, how long are those beautiful blue acrylic sticks you are using in this pic? Your bun is gorgeous. Only on a hairsite could we ever compliment someone's buns... LOL!! :hifive::hifive:

Nope, can't say I have ever done it like that. Trying now though. Didn't think it would hold without the stick through the middle, but it is so far. Seems comfortable, wonder how long it will last?

This is the way I've always done it, although it never looks as polished as yours does, Kaelee. With certain sticks the center feels too compacted to push through it.

Yes, I do this too! Doing it the 'original' way seems to make the bun less stable. It always looks much more messy than yours though - love the shine!

My hair always looks better in photos than real life!

The sticks in that picture are 6" :)

I do this as well. Sometimes, with a larger fork, I will catch the edge of the first loop going away from the bun, rather than attempting to actually go through the loop hole itself, then flip it under and go on through. It holds really well.

Thanks for the hairstick length info! Cheers! :puppy:
