Just saw this article today, although it was published back in March: http://nymag.com/thecut/2014/03/qa-the-women-who-wrote-the-book-on-black-hair.html. Apologies if I missed a prior thread on this -- there may well have been one, as the book was originally published back in 2001.

Anyway, I thought it looked like something you guys would be interested in! Has anyone here read the book?

I read the original version of this when it was first published in 2001. I am interested in reading the updated 2014 edition, since it will have much more information on the natural hair movement and how the internet and social media helped the movement to develop, grow and spawn a whole new industry of products specifically catering to natural hair--products I could have surely used when I was natural about five years ago.

It sounds fascinating - I'm adding it to my library queue!
