Hi guys! :flower:

Long, long time no see :) It's been years since my last post, but since I never was the most active member and nobody remembers me anyway, so I thought I'll just sneek quietly back in to your company, like a "fake new member".

Well, anyway. The other night i came up with this braided faux hawk style, I want to share with you. The idea was born half accedently, when I was trying to create a style which would imitate the short hair. Because I have dark hair, very pale scalp and my hair density is very sparse, I've allways been very concious about scalp cleavage and trying to avoid large partings across the head (love twin braids, the half an inch wide parting across the head, not so much, for example).

The short hair style I mean looks something like this: http://www.becomegorgeous.com/hair/photos/cute-medium-pixie-haircuts-for-women/medium-pixie-with-side-part-I211520 or this: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/105060603777636983/ I think, beacause of the thin hair in the temple area, it gives the appearance of the shorter sides. My hair is about hip length now, after a recent trim of 2-3 inches. To most of my friends it's allready "crazy long" (defenetely not my opinion!), they think everything below shoulders as long. Allready playing with idea, of scaring some close people, imagening how they'll go: "Have you cut your hair???" Especially want to scare my husband :scared:  I think with a little practice, it's possible to master it into a more smooth beliviable version, at least from a distance. Of course if you come closer you'll see the hoax immidiately, but at the first glimpse for a tiny moment... Or maybe it will just look ridicillous to other people, but when i first looked in a mirror, i could allmost convince my self. I was like:" Guess that's what would you look with short hair"

Please tell your opinions, what do you think?

Thank you Timea! You are sweet :) :flower:

Now all what is needed, is to gather some courrage and to make the first public appearance :D Hmm... I think, that one of the coolest things about this style is, that it compacts and compresses the hair nicely to barely nothing, but on the other hand maybe it's because my hair is so thin nowadays.

Any other opinions anyone?

Hi guys!

This thread had only one reply, I just would like to ask more opinions. I'm wondering, that maybe it's the subject or the title isn't intresting enough, or maybe it's just quiet on the forum, I don't know.

It's just, that I was so exited about this thing, felt like inventing a new hairstyle, but since it's left unnoticed, maybe it's just silly. I just would like some opinion, any opinions, just to know, if this can be worn in public, or is it totally ridicilous.

Please, anyone?

Ooh, I like it!

I will have to try it when my hair gets longer, since I sometimes miss my old pixie cut. Not enough to actually cut it again, mind. Just enough to think wistfully of it on days when the temperature soars.

I think you could definitely wear it in public. Might be a good style for the gym, as well (assuming it's nice and secure), since it keeps the hair up and out of the way of the back of the head.

I think it's pretty clever. DS had a real mohawk for a while, it was pretty cool.

For sure, your "do" sure does hide the length of your hair. :)

My comment got eaten by something!

I think it looks great. I really like the added bit of height that this style gives. It's certainly unusual and fun.

That's pretty neat. I'd seen fake hawk pieces sold on puppycatmeow on etsy but this will be cheaper ;) nice work!
