I'm in love with this braid!

See how it's so full-looking and thick? http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/22/5b/a8/225ba89ec587c086e79db5f12591f4bc.jpg

Does she have super super thick hair or something? When I try braiding mine, it just looks thin. Here are some pics of my hair so that you can get a sense of its texture/thickness:

Maybe my hair is a lot thinner than Rose's?

It's hard to tell from the photos, but maybe it's just braided super-loose? Like with no tension put on the hair at all. I'm guessing it works great for a movie scene with a hairdresser on hand, but might not survive long in real life.

But I'm just guessing.

That is very true! The hairdresser is behind the scenes!

According to this page, she used hair extensions on camera and volumizing spray off camera:

Don't know if that's true, but it wouldn't surprise me at all in a film.

I agree you could probably get that look braiding very loosely but it probably wouldn't last long. Volumizing spray or powder could probably make your hair that big, but it might also be somewhat damaging, just because it makes your hair incredibly grabby. I washed it straight out when I tried it, I couldn't cope with it. Did give me hair like a lion though!

Hm I don't think the link worked for me, but I have read that she used extensions for dry scenes.

Have you ever tried rope braids? Maybe if you twist the braid sections like that in just a regular or French you might get a fuller look? They're easy to tug on to make bigger but don't come apart as easy as regular strands :)

It looks like the plait was done while keeping the curls intact. That would make it larger as well, especially if they were hair sprayed to stay that way.

They're a two strand, and I learned how to do them on a YouTube channel (LilithMoon) very very simple to do :) hope you get the braid you want :3

Thanks! Haha I'm glad that they're simple because I don't know how to do a standard braid

ETA: I watched the video! It looks so cool!! I'll have to practice.

Lilith is great because her videos are so easy to follow :) I taught myself how to do quite a few different braids but I'm horrible at explaining them. I always refer people to Lilith! Have fun!
