I found out that Valka in How To Train Your Dragon has THIGH LENGTH hair! And it's in at least three braids, too.

Skeletonous- I love Lucky Star! Konata has amazing hair.

Sailor Moon was always my favorite. Early in the manga hair wouldn't stop growing even when she would cut it. This is the best image I could find online. She was sitting on her bed covered in floor length hair. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/514677063635982020/

I used to watch Sailor Moon as a child, but Moon wasn't my favourite in terms of hair. My absolute favourite (to this day) was always Sailor Mars, I absolutely adored her hair has a kid I used to be so fascinated with it (and also her shoes but that's another of my passions) and wanted hair just like that. Another cartoon favourite of my has to be Morticia Addams her hair wasn't really long but it was very pretty to me. My ultimate favourite hair inspiration from cartoons though is Cinderella from 1994 (Jetlag Productions) it's the one I grew up with (never seen the Disney version) and has a kid I watched the tape a million times because her hair was so fascinating to me.
Note: not sure if you meant animated cartoons, but non-animated cartoons my favourite has to be Poison Ivy/Dr. Pamela Isley because that hair colour!

Oh, Sailor Moon! My first contact with "longhair-craving". I remember putting up my hair in two pigtails and wishing my hair would just magically grow to Usagis length. :cheer:

But some manga charachters have fabulous hair. Like Kaoruko from "Majo no Biyaku" by Ohmi Tomu.
Seriously, this woman knows how to draw charachters with gorgeous hair. I adore her artwork.

Oh man, I loved The Last Unicorn and the animated Lord of the Rings so much as a little kid. In a similar vein, both the female characters from Flight of Dragons has some seriously epic hair.

I love the look of the old rankin/bass movies and glad im not the only one! I still really need to see The Hobbit and The Return of the King and Flight of the Dragons in full! Im headed off to animation college next year and im hoping to bring some of their style into my own :3

My mind immediately went to Sailor Moon. If I had blonde hair that would totally be my next Hallowe'en costume!!

I'm so glad someone mentioned Starfire earlier in the thread! Ironically, when I was little I went to the stylist with a picture of Raven (or was is Jade from Jackie Chan Adventures now that I think about it??) and asked for her hair. When the stylist said shed have to buzz the nape of my neck to get it that short and angled I went 'nevermind!' and stuck with the usual straight shoulder length bob.

Arciela thank you for posting Lady Lovely Locks. I vaguely remember watching part of a single episode of that cartoon as a child and thought it was just a deranged daydream. I just emerged from a small rabbit hole and yes, the girl with the squirrel things was a real show.

That hair made a hell of an impression to be the only thing I really remembered about that show.
