I just love all the things henna does for my hair, soft, thick shiny, less frizzy etc etc..

But i would like to incorporate my medium honey blonde to this. So I was thinking that maybe an reversed ombre would be a fun thing to do.

This will be a long time hair project, because my hair is in a month or two chin length, and my goal is waist or hip. I was thinking to achieve this my using less and less henna and more cassia to achieve a gradient that would at the end just be cassia. I want a really smooth gradient from my deep red hendigo to golden medium blonde.

You think this will be realistic to pull of? Any tips? Will I just be able to do root touchups? Do you know anyone who has done this? :flower:

That's probably going to look amazing!

It could look very cool. Be forewarned, though -- henna is addicting. You may find you want to smear it on your head on a regular basis. XD

reverse ombre with henna? that's me! I have ash brown hair and I've been growing out henna since last year and I have an ombre going on because there are less layers of henna as it went higher up. it blends pretty well but you have to be DEDICATED to the look as it never ever ever ever washes out. sometimes I hate it sometimes I...like it :)

Are you talking about henna tips and virgin roots? We have this thread for those:

This is so true - I'm not even sure why, but it's true all the same!

OP, your idea sounds like a good one - the results should be very pretty.

Oh nice! I bet it will answer many of my questions :D

I think it is a "safe" color project for me, I already love henna, and now I will just be using just less henna , and if the ombre look is not for me...then I can cover it in...HENNA!! :crush: And just end up with lovely red hair! That will be long by then, yay!

I recommend checking out these useful videos on how it can be done:
There is one by Seeshami on blonde hair: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/40120700
and LauraLongLocks on brown hair: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI-C8IeARbM

The two videos above use the same technique: keeping ends in one plastic bag.

These videos have a slightly different technique: 6 or more little foils.
Blonde (in German): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ppXrsw-yTc
Brown by Loepsie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9J3b0DOB0E

Obviously, it's easier to get faster results on lighter hair. Brunette hair shows very subtle results and may require multiple applications.
