How to make a renaissance inspired snood?

Hi the snood is really lovely. Have you got a haberdashery close by? you could try using some sort of trimming or fine ribbon and make the mesh by laying the ribbon or trimming on a flat surface to make the squares, securing them with little pearl beads. The outer part could have fine elastic threaded through to help support the outside. Hope this makes sense.
