need help hair typing

I'd say 2a but I agree it looks combed, which wouldn't make it very accurate.

I wonder if it's combed, and it's what my hair used to look like when I combed it. And it's all kind of more wavy than this now.

It is combed. When it isnt it seperated into locks and you can see the waves/ stretched ringlets (idk the proper term). I can post a picture of it uncombed tomorrow when I rinse the henna from my hair.

Definitely post a picture of it washed, airdried, and uncombed. Those ringlets are key to hairtyping. :)

That said, freshly hennaed hair might not be quite its normal texture. Let us know if it's off.

about 2 days ago I henna'd my hair and since then its been washed twice. It has straightened the body A LOT.

Right now I would type you as 1c/2a, but since henna has a reputation of straightening out wave, you're probably closer to 2a/2b. If you're interested in increasing your wave, look into amla, an herb commonly added to henna mixes to counteract the straightening, and I think you can just do an amla treatment by itself or added to your shampoo as well.

The first picture you posted made me think 2a, but your latest made me think 1c. :hmm: I think I'd go with 1c/2a for now (was this your first ever henna treatment?).

Wosie Nope, I've done it once before. But I didnt really pay attention to if it straightened my hair or not.

Molljo I didnt know that about henna~ I will certainly give amla a try.

It looks most like 1C since the henna.

I'm guessing you're at least a 2b when you don't use henna -- your combed-out picture looks like 2a to me, and those curly bits around the ears suggest you have a lot more curl potential. :flower:
