It's a very specific kind of alopecia, caused by an autoimmune issue. It basically tries to turn off the part of the body's immune system that is responsible for attacking the follicles.

Unfortunately it won't do a thing for the majority of alopecia sufferers.

The thing they used though has not been approved for use in Europe...apparently.Also seconding that it sounds too good to be true and especially the 'with no side effects' claim.

Yeah, I imagine immune suppression solely for hairloss is questionably ethical at best. :/ The person in the case study had full-body hairloss (autoimmune), psoriasis (autoimmune), and rheumatoid arthritis (autoimmune). It's fantastic that he's not suffered any side effects and that he's gotten relief from all these problems and it's probably worth the risks of long-term therapy in his case. But for people who get the odd patch of hairloss when they're stressed out, I imagine the risks outweigh the benefits.
