So for those of us with really long hair, finding a sun hat to wear in conjunction with keeping our hair up can be really difficult. So I posted a tutorial for how I altered one last night!

That is really cool! (pun intended ;)) Thanks for posting!

Could you post a picture of what it looks like from the back while you are wearing it?

So it's taken in the mirror because I don't have a way to take one from behind otherwise!

This is such a good ides! I love wearing hats in the summer but find it frustrating trying to fit my hair underneath :)

I love the idea! My only problem is that it's really windy in the area where I live, so hats tend to blow off. Pins to hold it on maybe...? Any ideas?

That's a nice hat. It instantly reminded me of this one in the movie Little Women http://regencydelight-janeaustenetc.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

I think between the strap that goes under my hair, and a hat pin, it should hold nicely.

That's awesome, though I am probably too lazy to do that. I usually just braid my hair to wear a sun hat. Kudos to you!

Wow, great job, Stagecoach! I had been thinking about getting a straw hat with a very shallow crown, but wasn't sure my hat pin would be enough to hold it. Your ribbons, though, look functional and ... wow, so pretty tied under your bun.
