What is the longest you can keep honey in your hair? Can you keep it in over night? A few hours? An hour? What gives you best results?

Are you looking for lightening your hair?

Personally i use honey to get rid of hair wax and grease near my roots (i'm doing WO). For that job i don't have to leave it in for very long, 5 minutes and then i rinse.

I haven't used honey for that purpose but this thread might help you: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=148

I believe for honey lightening there is a specific recipe in the thread that yields best results and time is one hour.
For general conditioning I just mix with deep conditioner and leave on 30min/1hr and for hair washing just a few minutes. It works well for cleansing scalp in my opinion.

Did an hour of honey setting with olive oil then soaked it in my hair. allowed the sun to shine on it for about 20 minutes. After that, let it set for 40 more minutes while being covered. then washed it out! I love my hair being lighter now :) here is the results:

Wow! Those are HUGE results! :D Congratulations! That's unusually fast honey lightening with just one application for just 1 hour. I'd suggest posting your results to the Honey Thread: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=148&page=516 Your success will probably encourage many people over there.
Can you share your recipe and ratios, please? Did you use distilled water?

I had no idea honey actually lightens hair. I've used about 1-2 tablespoons in my oil mixtures sometimes. I leave the oil treatment overnight.

I tried honey for lightening four times before I'd had it and quit. No lightening for me.
