Thanks! It is one of the few pictures that I didn't have to lighten in order for my hair to show up

I think it's very pretty, and I hope a few others try it out. It could well have been a style of the month! :D

I don't participate in it, but everyone is free to suggest -or whatever you do there- it :)

That isn't a hair toy, it is her hair done in a sweet rosette.

Eadwine , amazing!!! Truely amazing! Love it! You are very talanted with your hair!

OK. This is not with a dutchbraid. But few weeks ago i went to party and made this. Was kinda supposed to be a rosetta as well, but ehh... can my hair be little too long? At least the "flower" kept on growing bigger and bigger hahaha

Is it possible to do this without an assistant? As in on yourself?

Better yet are there any posts which highlight which braids you can do yourself without help on the forum?

I could see using this technique for other things as well. Looks good.

EDIT, Found an instructional video on how to dutch / french braid your own hair. Failed to get the last two spirals to "stick" since I don't own bobby pins but was still an interesting experiment. Sorry for the grainy picture, no one here to take one for me >_<

You can do almost any braid on yourself with practice ;) there's some people on youtube that have tutorials where they're braiding their own hair. I can do a french or dutch braid but when you get too technical I have to practice a ton to get them right.

I think I'll try this. It doesn't look too difficult (famous last words).

I don't have bobby pins either, hence the small claw clip. I wouldn't know how else to make the thing stick

Great looking first Dutch braid AND rosetta!! *thumbs up*

FINALLY someone who tried it, thanks greenmagic!

Is it me or does this style with the loose strand look cool to do on .. say.. a medieval festival or something? :D

You can do it Jumper!

It's done, was pretty easy. I can't get a picture with my cell phone to come out good right now, so maybe I'll do it again tomorrow for work and take a picture after.
