Unfortunately, my beloved Herbal Essences has angered my skin and I can't use it anymore without breaking out in nasty red hives all over my body and face. I'm pretty certain it's because of the fragrance. I made my way to Target in search for a shampoo and conditioner that were fragrance free. I didn't find any, but I did find Renpure.
I bought the "Luxurious" Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner. I've used it twice and I am in love! I feel like this stuff was made especially for me! The shampoo is really nice and seems to clean my scalp enough so that it's happy, but because it's SLS free, it doesn't dry out my length and won't strip the color from my hair. The conditioner has a nice texture - not too thin, not too thick - and has really helped moisturize my ends. Both the shampoo and conditioner contain cones, however, they are both water soluble (I think!) and they're more in the middle of the ingredients list. This means I get the smoothness from the cones, but it doesn't weigh down my waves as much as things with cones as the very first ingredient. Unfortunately, it's not completely fragrance free, but it is the very last ingredient on the list.
Now, I have only used it twice, which means I could very well develop a reaction to it in the next few washes. I sure hope this doesn't happen because my hair and scalp are really liking this stuff! However, the fact I don't have itchies immediately after a shower so far is a good sign. It's also not very expensive (~$5 per bottle) and I can easily buy it at my local Target. (At least while I'm in school. No word if it's at my local Target at home.)
Does anyone else here use Renpure? Did it work for you? What's your favorite product(s) from the brand? Did it start to irritate your skin after a while? I just want to brace myself for disappointment in case it happens. :( Any other thoughts and feelings on this brands stuff is also welcome! I reading other people's thoughts!
