View Full Version : Wavy/curly wearing your hair mostly-down ideas

I'm one of those gals who likes to leave my hair down whenever possible, because I enjoy my waves (by 3rd-4th day etc. I do bun it up). But some days either something just doesn't lay right, or I'm doing something where I don't want all of it in my face, yet the waves are nice enough that I still want to show them off (often second day hair). What are some ways to wear it besides all down or half up?

When my hair was longer, and even now, I did a topsy tail. It was out of my face but the pony was spread out enough to show my waves. The trick was to keep it quite loose.

luluj, that style is lovely!
I've been wearing my hair like this lately (sometimes adding more hair strands). I think it is something different and I love the way it looks on wavy hair

When my bangs are being annoying I'll pin back the front of my hair like this (http://static.brit.co.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Hair-4-Bang-Clip-645x645.jpg) or like this (http://manouvellemode.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/twist-pin.png). Or you can get some cute headbands to push your hair outta your face.

I'll be watching this thread because I could use some more ideas too. :)

Once you get enough length a peacock twist is just a ponytail that eats up a little bit of length.

Lots and lots of accent braid variations. Lace braids, headband braid, twin dutch braids starting at the temples and ending at the crown. There are tons more ideas out there.

Three words: Game of Thrones. They have fantastic half-up ideas.

Then there's headband braids, which are cute and keep most of your hair out of your face.

I am watching for ideas too. I often want to enjoy my texture too but I like simple but effective hairstyles- bohemian stuff. Lulu, you have gorgeous hair!

I googled simple but showy hairstyles and a few came up!

Last week I did luluj's topsy tail and put a flower pin into the "hole" -- so perfect! Wish I would have taken a picture!

Any other ideas and photos out there?
