Hairstyle for Court

I have waist length hair, just need something responsible and grownuppy looking.

fyi, I'm not like a criminal or anything.. just a case that I filed because my friend stole a couple thousand dollars from me.

I am extremely hair challenged. My current hairstyles include down, down with one side bobby pinned up, or down with a small half ponytail held by bobby pins. I'm basically not female. I needy your help.

I think a simple lazy wrap bun would do. They're the easiest thing I know to do.

Have you tried a Gibson tuck? It looks responsible, and is relatively easy to do. You just need a ponytail holder and bobby pins.

The headband updo is also rather easy and looks nice. You just need an elastic headband and bobby pins.

As long as you look neat, clean and not overtly sexy you'll be fine. You can wear your hair down without issue, pin the sides back, or do a half up, if you don't feel like putting your hair in a bun (I work in a courthouse)

Can you braid? A simple braid down your back can be mature and comfortable, without as much difficulty in getting it smooth and not pulling as an updo.

Something else to consider, depending on where your hearing is at you may be asked to take your hair down as part of a search. I always wore mine in a half up. It's a little more polished than down.

I personally think that french twists are the most classy, elegant, sophisticated and well-known styles. The hardest part about them, in my opinion, is securing them. You have bobby pins so that shouldn't be too hard though. I'm going to give you links to youtube videos but I would insert 1 or 2 bobby pins at the top to anchor the twist to your scalp as well as a couple along the "open" side (I think you'll see what I'm referring to when you watch the tutorials) and maybe the bottom of the twist as well. So, maybe 3 or 4 bobby pins max unless your hair is a lot thicker/heavier than I'm thinking (I mean the classifiers are a whole range afterall).

If this style doesn't appeal to you for whatever reason then... some kind of sock bun variation would work! :) Here's an easy one, (http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/fb/8b/65/fb8b65aad9f6667d4304710886565ec4.jpg) just don't tease/backcomb your hair since that's damaging and I don't understand how that could even change the appearance of the bun anyways lol.

if you are hair challenged, maybe just do a simple long braid down your back, and then use your bobbypins to secure it up into a bun at the nape of your neck? you shouldn't have to follow directions for that, although being able to look into 2 mirrors so you can see the back of your head would probably be helpful. GOOD LUCK in court!

I low ponytail or bun doesn't fail. A pulled through ponytail or half ponytail is also a good option. A little leave in to make it behave will look professional.

I'm in court often for work and am always cautious what I've got in my hair due to metal detectors and "potential weapons". Luckily in most facilities I know people that work there and leave my stuff with them and then go in. Wouldn't wear a modified letter opener hair stick or something that may be perceived as threatening-even a double pointed knitting needle, might alarm someone. Never know, and it varies by which facility you're at. Good luck with your case!!

A wrapped ponytail is also nice. You create a ponytail, leaving a section of hair loose. You then wrap the loose portion around the hair tie securing the ponytail, and then use a bobby pin or two to secure the end of the hair wrap. Simple, polished, and really easy.
