...how do you work out how much of your hair to cut for a fringe? I have a section at the front which was a side-swept fringe but it's growing and has kind of attached itself to a growing out layer at the back now there's this big lumpy bit. I think I'd like a long fringe/face framing layers but can't work out which section to cut so it doesn't clump together! If anyone can give me any advice, I'd be grateful.

If I remember correctly fringe should be sectioned off at your pupils.

I just comb down my bangs and cut lol. My fringe is long though, not at all short.

Ooh Seeshami, that's interesting, I'll try that.
Ambermuffinz, is fringe and bangs not the same thing? I'm confused. I would've just combed it forward and taken a pair of scissors to it before but I'm trying to be careful about how much I take off as this is the first time I've tried to grow it without basically just ignoring it!

The end of your eyebrows and section up. No more than half (and that's already a lot) of the top of your head when sectioning horizontally across your head!
