Just wanted to share. I'm constantly trying to figure out how to do this style on my head, and for some reason I understood her directions:

Her twisted crown braid tutorial is also good.

Wow, I love it!! I always get confused when I am at the back though. Not to speak about tired arms :p

Thank you so much for posting this, she's really easy to follow! I've been trying to look for a good crown braid tutorial but so many of them either told you to backcomb (not something I want to be doing!) or assumed far greater hair skills than I possess.

This is one of my favorite looks and go-to's in the warmer months, though I will now be doing it other times of year, too :-) I like how she clarified that we need to braid *up* once the add-in hairs run out. That makes a difference for getting a sleek transition point. I'll post a pic next time I do this (maybe Monday!)

Thanks for posting, this is a great tutorial!

OK.. I will be the first victim then to show off my attempt at this. I have bangs to boot, which I had to somehow incorporate and I left them out. Not bad at all really.

Of course I got the poof on one side mistake which I sorted out with the claw clippies, and then just added two on the other side to match the first two.

I didn't have bobby pins so I used clips for now to secure the ends haha. Ah well for a first time ever it didn't turn out horribly bad *giggles*

And I must say, this IS comfy! Too bad it still takes too long to do.

Nicely done! I like the claw clips in there, both cute and trouble-shooting ;-)

I've had a bit too hectic of a week to put the time in to do this one but I'm looking forward to a calmer week next week and getting some pics of this up ;-)

Yay, hopefully you can manage, I would love to see it :)

I have horrible issues braiding against the direction my hair grows, so every time I try a crown braid I get horribly messed up right from the start. It just takes practice, I know.

I like that its a tutorial where she's doing it on herself. I've watched some where one person is braiding another person and that isn't really helpful.

I like this one. I think I might actually be able to manage it! :p

Thank you. :blossom:

It's so wonderful that people are posting pictures!

I sooooo want to do this, but I don't think curly hair and crown braids get along. If I leave my hair curly, it doesn't separate well when I try to "pick up" more hair to add to the braid. If I detangle it before braiding....lol....then I have to detangle it and it's a great poof monster to wrangle.

I need a magic fairy to do a crown braid on me so I can see if I even like it. Yeah. That's it.

Thanks for sharing!
I can braid from ear to ear, and across the back, so should be able to do this! I'm excited to try. It would look great for church!

Oh! I love her tutorials. She's very good at explaining how things should be done. She also makes difficult hairstyles easy.

I tried it yesterday, and it was messy, but held!
On a side note:
DD (17yrs) dressed as Queen Elsa (from "Frozen" movie) for a friend's fundraiser. She borrowed a blue prom dress, and asked me to braid her hair--WL natural blonde with bleach highlights. I used the tutorial from this thread to widen her braid! I've tried to pancake braids out before, but wasn't pulling them right and they came out awful! For some reason, this tutorial clicked. DD loved the way her hair looked, and was bullrushed by little girls the minute she got there.
Thanks for sharing!
