Hello all! I have been growing my hair our for nearly 3 years now. I feel like it should be so much longer than it is but a couple trims gone wrong (I don't want the length touched..just a little dusting I say as an inch is then hacked off my hair...) but I find it fun to go through the pictures and remind myself that it WILL grow back. :p Apologies that these are all front view and not back view!!! Now that I'm *really* beginning my hair growth journey (no trimming for a year, wearing my hair braided/up more, no coloring) I will be able to take regular pictures from behind to chart the growth!

The Journey begins here in March 2011 http://i.imgur.com/U8HnOAO.jpg

November 2011!!! (The color was growing out odd but we have some length!!!) http://i.imgur.com/4hwQs3O.jpg?1

July 2012!!! http://i.imgur.com/3sIS8C1.jpg?1

June 2013 The day I got over an inch chopped off when I only asked for a dusting.

And finally. As of April 10th 2014 A before and after of the trim I received! I had my colored about 2 months ago to match my natural hair color (I do not want to color it again) and the woman took off about half an inch! But i'm remaining calm and telling myself that since I had my hair colored it's for the best and in 3-4 months time it will even longer and lovelier than before. Growing hair sure tests your patience!

I know a half inch doesn't seem like much to most people, but i'm sure those of you here growing your hair long can understand my drama lol The hair at the end of my braid isn't as long *sniff* But thanks for reading and I hope in a few months time to update with even longer healthier hair! :joy:

No, I totally understand. My mom wants me to get a 'minimum of a half inch trim' but I really, REALLY don't want to... I don't even have any splits. She just thinks that because it's been since October that means I must trim or else my hair isn't healthy, when my hair is by far the healthiest hair in our family.
Maybe you should learn to self-trim to avoid that predicament?
Your hair is pretty :)

Thank you!! :) Now that i've had my last trim for a loooooong time I have been thinking of getting a pair of good hair cutting scissors so I can do a "dusting" myself. Even my hairdressers always tell me I don't have many split ends, but since I had it colored a few times I felt safer trimming a bit to avoid any crazy splits down the line. As we all know color isn't really the best for our hair! I'm trying to grow my hair our natural as much as possible. I didn't post a picture but my hair up until 2 months ago was light blonde all over and then a dark brown in the back. I enjoyed the color but once I got really serious about hair growing I knew keeping it two toned just wouldn't look right so it was off to make it "natural" lol Everyone thinks you need to get a trim every few months but really you don't if you're babying it. I'm also lucky that my boyfriend prefers natural colored hair and has a bit of a thing for long hair. So that just keeps me motivated!
