Hey all! I am going to see Madama Butterfly at the Metropolitan Opera on May 5 with my sister, and I really want to debut a new beautiful, classy hairstyle when I go. Can anyone suggest a good style? Please keep in mind that I only have an intermediate skill level when it comes to braids and buns. I don't mind whether it's a half-up, bun, braid, or some combo of those, I just want something really nice and fancy. :) I'm going to be wearing a semiformal/formal long black dress, if that helps anyone.
I found two pictues that I REALLY like, but I only saw them on Pinterest and there's no name or tutorial for either style. Here they are, if anyone can identify them:

Otherwise, I am so open to suggestions! Thank you so much in advance, guys, I really appreciate it. :)

This is elegant and easy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPHEzUr5bWQ
You can dress it up with do it yourself hair bling (tiny glittery buttons from Michaels threaded through crimped hairpins). The photos you shared look like they were done by professionals...espec. the one with the blonde hair.

Hmm they're both fishtail braids.... The top one looks much looser then usual, and then the rest of the plait folded underneath and pinned. The bottom pic has me stumped, I don't know how you can get the hair so smooth on either side of the plait...

the 2nd one is a fishtail braid with segments added every 15 or so loops, I've done something like this on myself and it's super easy :)
the first one looks like a tucked under fishtail braid.

The first one looks like it might be a tucked draped fishtail braid. I didn't find any tutorials on this specifically, but here are instructions (http://frannyslonghair.blogspot.com/2010/11/hairstyle-how-to-tucked-draped-french.html) for a tucked draped French braid, which might help.
The second one looks a lot like the cascading fishtail braid in this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L2IYWx6pOs).
My cautionary note from experience is to make sure you try out whatever style you choose before your big night out. Nothing's more annoying than having to suddenly flee to the restroom to make unexpected hair repairs. Wear the style sometime when you're puttering around at home to make sure it will be reliable through a three-hankie opera.

Yeah, it definitely looks like a draped, tucked fishtail for the first photo, using larger sections. The second is a caged fishtail (or a "cascading" one in the tutorial that QMacrocarpa mentions - I've known the "caged" terminology for far longer, so it's my habit to call it that) with large sections.
