My mom and I are in the habit of reading the books, and then going to see the movie. It's a fun little "hobby" and of gives us something in common to talk about. A couple months ago she wanted me to read the Divergent series, and yesterday we went out to see the movie together. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would! But anyways, back to the topic....

she knows im her "into" long hair and updos right now. She asked me what kind of a bun was Tris's and if my hair was long enough to do that. I wasn't sure, so I thought I'd post here and ask the experts! :)

hopefully this link works!

It's so perfectly round and puffy, it reminds me of a sock bun, though the middle tends to look a little different on those.

ETA: This (http://ohthatsyou.com/blog/2012/03/hair-tutorial-ballerina-bun/) looks really close.

I would say a spriral-wound sock bun (i.e. turn the sock bun horizontally as you roll it).

It depends on how much hair she's got... I can make my cinnabun look like that.

I was going to say that's what the buns looked like when I went to ballet! hahaha. With the ends tucked in VERY neatly.

:agree: That's what I think, too. Cinnabun.

Her hair is pretty long naturally. I'd say its a cinnabu.

Pretty! I'm excited for when the movie eventually is released to DVD. I enjoyed the books.

I'd call it a folded cinnabun. A cinnabun where the hair is gently folded as opposed to twisted.

I think its a cinnabun. My hair looks like that in a cinnabun and its not that long. It's just thick (which makes the one side look puffy) and has a lot of taper which makes the other side spiral. Sock buns are more round and 'donuty' looking than that.

Just a loosely twisted cinnabun, as others have said. It is a lovely example though, really nice to see in a movie ;)

My Gibraltar bun used to look exactly like that.

A cinnabun would make the most sense in Abnegation. They do things the old fashioned way, prim and properly.
