So after invoking the two week rule, I did it! I cut to one length! I'm so happy with it. Its APL now but its so full and thick and amazing! Also my braid looks so fab.

Toodaloo layers.

I knew there was thick hair hiding under those cursed layers!! I actually don't mind it this short because it looks so thick and fab.

Looks great! I've been toying with the idea of cutting off all my layers too, (and grown out henna), but my hair would be at shoulder length. On the plus side it would be 100% virgin and one length. But kudos to you for doing that :)

I did. Honestly, I wasn't happy with my cut at all (i.e. bitching about it CONSTANTLY and I just hated how it looked). Getting the layers cut off was liberating, now I can grow back to waist+ and have a nice thick hemline :)

If you have the guts, do it. I'm kind of taking the attitude that hair grows and it will eventually grow back. I also cut most of my old henna off actually, so my hair is all black now. The way I look at it you have three options

1. Grow them out w/o trims
2. Microtrim
3. CHOP

I tried 1 and 2 and I just wasn't happy with my look. I've been toying with a chop for about two months now.

tl;dr: its like ripping off the bandaid quick and hair grows back.

Your hair looks lovely, kganihanova! Congrats on getting rid of the layers. Your braid is going to look wonderful once your hair hits waist. Happy growing!

Congrats! I love how full your hair looks!

I am going the long route with no trimming in 2014+ and then micro trimming or maintaining until most of my layers are gone (probably will keep some.) I had the goal of no major cuts until july 2015, before joining LHC, and I am sticking to it.

Cant wait to be at that level where I can this "hair will grow back so do it" but im still to attached to my length :( if I wasnt, I would be cutting off at least 2 inches at once but so far microtriming is the best I can do.

I don't know if I have the guts to do it yet, haha. I've been growing my hair for 2 years from my last awful chop. Whenever I cut my hair, even if it's a couple inches, I always think what the length would be if I didn't cut it. I think I'm gonna grow it until the end of the year and see what I want to do then, but I might be close to hip by then so I might not cut it at all. Reaching my goal length is what I'd like to accomplish first :)
