It's officially one year since the last time I got my hair cut!
Brief history: had hair all lengths and colours under the sun while growing up. As an adult had waist-length, virgin hair for a few years, which I sort of took care of, but I hadn't yet found LHC. Cut it all off into a pixie in Summer 2011, and then started buzzing it when the upkeep of short hair turned out to be a huge faff!
Started half-heartedly growing it out again in 2012, and found LHC in 2013. Had my grow-out mullet chopped in March 2013, and this was the result:

I don't have one from the back, but you can see how incredibly short some of those layers are!!
I'm ashamed to say I didn't take very good care of it at this point (lots of blowdrying, straightening and salt spraying!!) and by Autumn 2013 the condition really wasn't great and it hadn't grown very much:

But that's when I started really trying to follow the LHC way of things. I've been co-washing, coconut oiling, tangle teezing, BBBing, doing scalp-massage and taking vitamins, wearing it up as much as possible and trying to avoid hair elastics. I've done just one half-inch trim using proper hairdressing shears in that time, and here's my hair today:

Yay! Starting to actually get past my shoulders, and I'm on my way to APL. I've embraced my natural ashy colour, my unpredictable wurls, and stopped trying to make my hair be something it just isn't.
Thank you LHC! The advice and support to be found here is so awesome. Can't wait to see how much growth I have by this time next year!!
