Hello, me again, sorry.

I wanted to start a thread for no-twist required buns (chopstick or otherwise). Personally, I find any bun which requires twisting near-impossible, my hair just slips around and untwists. I stumbled across this bun method on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sBAz9Z_2uo <---- the THIRD one that she does. It is SO secure, neat and easy to do with no twisting whatsoever. No idea if it has a name.

If anyone else has non-twist bun methods, please share them here! A video would be even better. :o

Number three would be either a nautilus or LWB. Check out the bun thread for many, many options.

#3 is a Nautilus, though there are several variations of that bun (http://s1247.photobucket.com/user/neko_kawaii_hair/media/P3056974_zpsca8100a9.mp4.html). This is a LWB. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTt771qkO24) The bun picture thread is good if you want more ideas, and there's also a bun reference list (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=112682). :)

oh great, thanks for the reference list! Personally would still like a separate thread to alleviate having to trawl through and click each one to see which is non-twist, but maybe others see that as lazy....

I need to expand my bun repertoire so I will be following this thread. My fine hair doesn't like to be twisted and I think it causes damage so I also avoid buns that involve any twisting. I love the nautilus and how it stays and evenly distributes the weight of the bun. The Lazy Wrap bun doesn't work very well for me but sometimes I can get it to stay. I also like the Nuvi bun. That bun is a little tighter so I have to be careful because if I wrap it a bit too tight my scalp lets me know and then I have redo it. It can be frustrating but rewarding to learn a new updo. :)

Oh my goodness. I just looked at that list of buns, and I am so happy it's there! I will be sitting here at the computer all day today looking through all of them :happydance: Thank you!

I don't know if your hair is long enough yet but you can do a nautilus without twisting the tail and it holds well .

I do ALL the buns with no twist. Mostly because I'm so damn lazy twisting is too much extra work.

I don't like to twist my hair as it is fine and coloured on the ends and therefore fragile so I am interested too. I am going to see if I can find a nautilus bun tutorial.

Nautilus's and lazy wraps....aren't they the same end result, just with a different method? Mine come out looking exactly the same, the only difference I findis that I g=can get a tighter, higher bun with the nautilus, than the lazy wrap.

I highly recommend bun three in the video I linked to. The method is extremely secure, doesn't feel like you're fighting gravity or trying to form something vaguely on your head.

A couple other no twist buns are a disc bun or a lazy infinity/lazy figure 8.

My nautilus and lazy wrap buns look different and nautilus feels tighter, more secure. They both are definitely my go-to styles.

Is there a tutorial for lazy infinity/figure 8? I seem to like everything "lazy"... :p

I was going to say WaitingSoLong had some great no-twist tutorials on Youtube. She had a L-infinity tutorial too, but it looks like they have been moved or removed :/ There was a list here:
