Thanks everyone! Everyone here is a great inspiration. I've always had short hair. Before growing here, the longest my hair had ever been was APL, maybe close to BSL.

I am a benign neglector who likes to experiment. I dyed my hair with box dye once but had an allergic reaction so the bottom ~ 8-10 inches has been subjected to chemical dye then covered with henna.

The one thing I have done throughout the 2 years is give up heat - no hair dryer and no iron.

I wash every other day with whatever catches my attention in the shower :D (sulfates, sulfate-free, sometimes CWC, all kinds of conditioners- cones and no cones and mix and match shampoo and conditioner brands). I comb/tangle teezer my hair when it's wet :o I try to wear it up a lot. I don't use hair spray. I've experimented with oil a little this winter because my ends were a little dry but oiling isn't in the regular rotation. I rope braid 99% of the time for bed. I tried a silk pillow case but have gone back to my high thread count cotton because I think I sleep better with that pillowcase.

I do use cones sometimes but my hair really prefers a cwc - cheap vo5 condish on the length, some kind of shampoo and the tresemme naturals condish (old formula).
