View Full Version : Best way to self-trim shoulder/APL length hair?

So I've been using Feye's method to cut my hair when it was longer (BSL and longer), but I find it hard to trim my now APL-length hair that way (even if I tie the elastic in the front/on both sides instead of in the back as in the original method). Does anyone have a good technique to do it? (I only want to trim a few cm at a time, not to cut much shorter.)

Thanks!

I'm at cbl and have cut my own hair for years bar a trip to the hairdressers in November (1st time in about 13 years) All I do is hold it into a ponytail, grip it and move my hand down to the point I want to cut and chop it off. I find you need a mirror at this length so you can see where you are directing the scissors!!! I haven't had any major mishaps as yet. I had a little micro trim a couple of days ago using this method and I only took off a couple of mm's, hairline stayed straight and you couldn't tell I had cut it. The mirror is definitely essential though.
