OMG, I clicked on a banner ad here for www.taaz.com (http://www.taaz.com), and it is soooooo fun. It's one of the best makeover sites I've ever been to, the makeup is very realistic. Anyways, being an LHCer, you all know I HAD to play with the hair!

So here are some photos to share with you :D Now go have some fun with it yourselves!

Here's the base photo. Don't ask why my hand is up like that, I'm a moron.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/astrauser/CIMG1511.jpg

Taaz let me do my makeup and hair. I only did the makeup once, I spent my time playing with my hair ;)

Dream hair (sideswept bangs are really growing on me):

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/astrauser/44664ddd.jpg

A funny blond shag, to prove that I'm a hideous blond:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/astrauser/91fb79a1.jpg

A blunt bang for fun:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/astrauser/75aa847f.jpg

I have to say that not only was this fun, but it is very useful in figuring out if you want to change your haircolor or add bangs (I'm liking sideswept bangs on me more and more!)

It's also neat that it recommends real cosmetics brands and colors based on what you used in your makeover. Very helpful.

Pun intended? :p
I am too chicken to post up my pictures, but I've just been playing around with various hairstyles and I'm finding myself drawn to a full choppy fringe  I always thought I'd go for side-swept, but not so sure now. Darn you, Taaz, and your horizon-broadening ways!

I looked really unwell as a blonde though! That option is definitely out!

Thanks for the link, it was fun :)

Wow, Manderly, you're gorgeous.

I tried doing the makeup but I just ended up looking like a dude. I'm not very keen on how my face looks in general...but I did see one thing that stuck out: I think I look better with fullness at the sides of my face (which is long). Interesting! Thank you.

Thanks you guys :D

Last time I dyed my hair a dark chocolate brown everyone thought I was goth  I agree that I like my hair a little darker than the natural color :)

Anyone else brave enough to post? Maybe I can have a mod move this to the friendship board so it's a little more private.

WOW—look what concealer and blush does for me! :) I have such trouble covering up my dark circles and finding a good foundation in "real life." For some reason I couldn't get the eyeliner and mascara functions to work so I just applied a bit of "makeup."
To my surprise I look great in jaw length bobs! None of the long styles worked because they were shaped badly (teased too high, etc.)

Here's my favorite, a nice highlighted shoulder length cut with just the right amount of body:

Before (no makeup, ponytail, my sweatshirt looks like it has stains all over it for some weird reason) http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd344/lbphe/Taaz.jpg

I think the blunt bangs look fantastic on you, they really draw attention to your eyes.

Though blunt bangs don't always work great with wavy hair. But in the picture it looks awesome.

Tangles, you have fantastic eyes!!

You can edit your facial areas again. I had to fiddle with my eyes again to get it to work. Just click on the button or right on your picture. Then you get to move around those blue dots again until the eyeliner sits right.

You do the same thing with the hair. It will give you a bunch of blue dots you can move around to make the hair fit you right :)

Before (lip gloss & a little mascara only):

Ugh, I really do look like a dude. :(

Anyway, the following don't have any makeup added. I didn't like the way the different makeup colors looked on me and I was too busy tonight to really get into it.

So...long & swingy:

Side-swept bangs & banana curls:

ETA: excuse the nakedness.... I tend to go au naturel when im in my room *blush*

Awwww, thanks you guys! I think I look like Cleopatra too. I just don't think I could handle all those bangs. I really can't stand my hair being in my face too much. I think I could tolerate a sideswept thing, but maaaaaaaan, those things sitting on my forehead all the time might drive me to madness!!!! Hahahaha

Plus, I'm a wavy ;)

GlennaGirl, you look great! I see no manishness! I like the darker one with the sideswept bangs on you too :)

Animasola, I did a couple with short hair, but I thought they were just too awful to save! hehehehehe, it looks great on you :)

I did my makeup really subtle because I thought I looked odd with anything else. They're actually close to colors I use for real (MAC's copperplate eyeshadow for one :))

Okay, I'll take the plunge and debut my face on teh Interwebs. :face: At least I'll be wearing a disguise, right? ;) I'm not going to post a 'before' because I'm nearly 44, so there. :p

Applying makeup was fun... the website didn't want to play with foundation so there's just a light dusting of that. It was interesting to see that liner all the way around my eye actually looks pretty good - it's something I'd never do in RL. Also, all green eyeshadow looked ugh, and it's what I usually use. :o

So here's an approximation of what my hair looked like in my youth: blunt fringe, no silvers, thick and shiny. Sigh.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/Scarla/hair/small7.jpg

Oddly enough, of all the other styles I tried this next one suited me best, I thought. It's about as far away from how I like my hair as I could get, barring a pink and purple mohawk!

Isn't it a fun little site?!

OMG Manderly that was so fun! I blew about an hour on there just with the hair!

I didn't save my original pic, it was pretty hideous anyways, but here are my fav ones. The hair that is, the makeup had to improve from my original, it was just woke up morning face :scared:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v710/justdoinit/Pa962bcd18676a86b1726bf6b441ffda4_5.jpg

I choose dark red/burgundy because I'm toying with the idea of going that color probably tomorrow. Now I definately will, it looks okay! And Manderly, I love the sideswept bangs also, they must be universally flattering.

As for the makeup, that was the best. I never considered brown mascara but now find it looks the best on me. And eyeliner in a different place? Amazing! I'm off to try it right now.

This should be a prerequesite for LHC...see if long hair suits you or if henna/indigo/coloring herbs suit you first.

manderly
September 13th, 2008, 01:38 PM
I love the burgundy on you annarose! I think you're right, sideswept bangs done right seem like they'd look great on almost everyone........

And I am totally impressed with their makeup. Every other "makeover" site I've ever played with has always made the makeup look like fake painted on crap. This site actually got it right :)

You could pull any of them off cos you're gorgeous, but I think your cool colouring suits blonde best (I've been learning about that stuff recently ). Although you look pretty fab as a brunette, too!

ETA: I sent the pic of me as a short-haired blonde to my mother, making it clear it was not REAL - didn't want to be responsible for giving her another heart attack! - and her response was pretty funny: "Mio Dio! Mon Dieu! and Mein Gott! Does not look at all like you! No, non no! And too much eyeliner under the eyes. If I did not know you I would think "she is very attractive" - but 'tis just not you. No Irishness. How amazing that a totally different hair-do and makeup can change one so."

This is a fun program -- and I'm impressed by how good some of the hair shots look on you!

When I tried, most of the long hair looked oversized on my head. Way too much volume, which is hard to believe, as my natural hair is pretty voluminous!

Teazel
September 14th, 2008, 02:24 AM
I found the same thing, darkwaves. All the tumbled tresses looked terribly OTT on me, like I was in drag. The sleeker styles were much better, but they still have a lot of volume. My favourite pic, below, adds a good inch to the top of my head no matter how much I tell it to settle down. This is something to keep in mind; it's fantasy hair, really, rather than something that can be translated into reality.

So this is my fave. It takes years off me: DH saw it tonight and asked how old the photo was - he was stunned when I told him I took it this afternoon. So if I ever want to become a slave to the salon and straighteners....

Yes, dark circles really make me look tired :( I've been trying out different eye creams and dark circle treatments, I really hate the panda look! I found a good concealer made by Laura Mercier that works pretty well though, not like the program one of course.

I didn't get the eyeliner to work, either, and I don't think it would have turned out that great, judging by the stupid looking mascara.

I've come back to ask for advice... Still too chicken to post up my pre-makeover picture. None of those eyelashes are my own, I assure you!
The acne scarring on my chin is too much for the Taaz concealer to handle, even when I went heavy-duty on it, and I had to photoshop it out (because I'm vain, see).

I'd like to get some opinions on whether I look better with or without bangs.. pretty please!

Yes, everythings enabled and I've never run into the problem of another site not working. (At least not without a "You need ____ to run this". This is just a blank background...

Manderly,

I think your natural widow's peak hair line is quite pretty. But if you really want bangs, I actually think the straight across, blunt bangs look very nice on you. Coming from me, this is shocking, as I generally hate bangs. If they seem too heavy, you could have that shape, but have the bangs cut thinner. If your hair is wavy though, the bangs might not hang correctly, and straightening them is so bad for the hair. Plus bangs require a lot of upkeep, and are a royal pain to grow back. So there, I have pretty much talked myself out of your bangs. But,since we are talking about you, not me, you might have fun trying them.

Deborah

ClareDee,

I vote against the bangs. Your forehead is clear and perfect, and I think the bangs detract a little from your beautiful wide-eyed look.

Oberon88, that's a great look on you - quite sultry. :)

ClareDee, I like all those looks, so I'm no help. Except that a fringe really is a bit of a pain, so that might be the decider. :)

Thanks 2luvmycurls, Deborah and Teazel. Comments much appreciated :flower:

Bangless is easier to maintain, true. Plus, with slightly thin hair like mine, it'd take away from the overal thickness, making it look thinner. Decision made, for now ;)

Everyone looks fantastic!

I don't know why the site isnt' working for some. And squiggy, it was killer on my ram on my computer, my computer had to keep cycling the rambooster to free up ram (I really do need more though). It was aggravating to say the least, and it kept me from doing A LOT more makeovers than I would have liked.

Deborah, thanks for the input :D I have wavy hair and I'm lazy, so I'm sure that my bangs would never look like that ;)

Everyone looks great here and I think I will have a go.

ClareDee I am going to go against the grain here and vote for the full bangs. You have such beautiful eyes and bangs draw your attention to eyes. I really loved that look on you. I have also heard before that if you have side parted hair it also brings out the eyes so perhaps that is why everyone seems to look great with that feature.

Oh this is sooooooo much fun!!! I have learned a lot too.

Me without makeup (sorry, bad quality web cam pic....but I was in a hurry!):
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s144/missrini8/hair/rini_face.jpg
Me with short hair (I quite like this actually):
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s144/missrini8/hair/shortie.jpg
Me with longish hair:
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s144/missrini8/hair/blondie.jpg
Me with red hair (for old times sake!):
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s144/missrini8/hair/red.jpg

I had as much fun trying out the makeup as I did the hairstyles. I don't wear makeup much, so it was fun trying different colours! I changed my eye colour with "contacts". I think I might get some coloured contacts now too :D I also noticed just how pointy my chin is  and how wonky my face must be (I had to alter those little face measuring dots ALOT!!) But I think I made a good decision to grow out my fringe as the fringed hairstyles just looked wrong on me :disgust:

But this was sooooo much fun :cheese:

Teazel

You're very cute, Rini, and I don't see any undue pointiness in your chin! :p You look great as a redhead.

I had the wonky thing going on, too. One of my eyes is drooping as I get older, my mouth pulls to one side, my nose points in the other direction.... Still, I suppose few people have perfectly symmetrical features.

I think I like the brown color better, it sort of brings out that healthy pinkish glow in your skin. I don't know whether that is the real tone of your skin though, that's always difficult to see in pictures. And you look good both with and without fringes.

ok so here is my base image.. yeah i hardly ever wear makeup.. and please ignore soft twister things.. this was the only pic of me with my hair pulled back

and here is me with short hair

its not too bad but my real hair would have to be straightened everyday and my hair has alot more volume than that while short..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v512/kidmol/P80ee0246d56f0fe7ee73d739070bd74-2.jpg
this one shows me with some sort of side bangs.. ofcourse my hair would never do this no matter how much gel and heat and hairspray i used.. oh and this is a bit closer to my natural color.. reddish brownish

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v512/kidmol/P80ee0246d56f0fe7ee73d739070bd74-3.jpg
ok so here is closer to how my hair really looks in bangs.. it flips at the ends.. also this one is of me with brown hair

and here is a couple of pics of me really with bangs..
notice the flippyness

Dientje, I'm not so keen on the blunt bangs, but the other bangs and the sideswept look are great! However, the last one, with no bangs at all, is the best IMHO. How pretty you are.

While I have *greatly* enjoyed this thread (y'all look great!) and the site is neat, I looked at their terms of use and as I suspected, the company grants itself massive rights over any images that are uploaded to it. If you would be shocked/upset to see *your* face in a Google advertisement all over the Internet with no compensation and say over which sites your image appears on and how it appears, then don't use this site. They can and will use your images in that way if they wish. But, if you don't mind, then Taaz yourself into oblivion!

I think the messy henna one is the best looking on you;).

I too think it looks the best, it matches your complexion and eyecolor perfectly.

And GlassEyes, I like the third from the bottom up best, but you look great with all styles! And you look great with the contacts:)

Okay, You know I had to go and do it...

Here are some long wavy pics...different colors:http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m195/blackfoot_hair/tightwave3.jpg

Messy hair, but eerily similar to how my hair color with henna looks:

And because I actually was this shade once in my life for about 4 days:

You were right. This was fun! :) I haven't had this perfect skin since I was like eight. And all the different sorts of hair! I had a lovely evening! :)

I played with it for several hours, but now I thought you might be able to help me out with a decision. I'm thinking of getting some faceframing layers. I've had it before but they are grown out now and I don't know what sort would fit me best. So, what do you think? Which sort of frames/fringe do you think looks best? (Ordinary straight fringe is out of the question, it looks just awful on me..) I am especially thinking about how it would look with my hair up, so I've choosen mostly those pictures.

This was just for fun. I had no idea I could pull of that color and style. Maybe it's the lipstick that makes it.

The picture I used for original in the Taaz-page somewhat distorted the dimensions of my face. (I blame the cellphone camera and bathroom lightning.) This picture shows better how I really look like.

Alright i finally got to do mine. Its a fun web site even though I did come out bit hooker-ish in mho. DBF was so kind as to tell me i look alot like a brown headed carrot top in the last picture.

P.S to FireFox users- it wouldn't work half the time for me so i opened it in regular explorer and i seen all these new button that didn't load in fire fox

Awww, I don't know why you're having a problem. Are you using Firefox or IE? I know it crashed my computer about a dozen times with FF.

I'm using IE and the pic won't save on the site or to my computer. It just keeps acting like it's loading but never gets there! I dunno why I'm having an issue on that site because I haven't had issues with pictures saving/uploading.

The only thing i know to tell you to try would be either your connection speed or you may need to clean out your history and cookies.

hehe, thanks! There are a lot of different styles to choose from but that one seems to be the closest to my hair growth pattern. Time will tell how accurate it is.

I've given up trying to save the pics. I've cleaned everything there is to be cleaned...lol... and it still won't save right. At least the link worked!:cheese:

This is fun :) I've tried some different colors.
This one looked good. I also like the cut, but there's no way I'm cutting my long hair :p
Is this purple, or what kind of color is it? I really like it !

Most colours looked really bad on me. Most of the colors they have look so golden... I don't found any ashy, cool colors except of this nice color in the link, and some black. The golden colors looked really fake on me.

Ooh, and look here: beautifull curls :D

I think my boyfriend looks cute :D He was trying to see how will he look when his hair grows that long. He wants to grow out his hair.

Nooo, you never should have posted this site! It's too addictive! I can't stop trying on hairstyles :(

Edit: I made a little gallery of them on photobucket (since saving to the site wasn't working for me). The only facing-front photo I have of myself had my hair over my eye, so just ignore my real hair whenever it shows. I'll have to take a picture with my hair tied back tomorrow and try the short hairstyles :) this is too much fun.

Some of them are just AWFUL (I'd make a terrible blonde, for instance).... but they are hilarious.

This is fun (and a time waster). I did myself in celebrity makeover style - one of each color. In my album (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=8315) you can see all. I seem to have trouble getting images on this page from my album - they look like broken links on my side - any suggestions?
