I don't see another thread on this, but I am sorry if this is a repeat. I know Aveda is not well-loved around here, but I've been getting my hair trimmed at a local Aveda salon for a couple years (every three months) and recently started using their Dry Remedy line. I love it! :o I think the reformulated conditioner is my "holy grail" and the shampoo doesn't dry my hair or make my scalp itch. Does anyone else use and like these products? The price at first put me off, but I get few tangles and my scalp is finally happy, so my husband and I think it's worthwhile. If you do like the products, have you tried their dry remedy oil, and would you tell me what you think?

I do use the oil and I like it very much. More later...hard to type on the phone!

My HG products are Aveda Damage Remedy. I use Dry Remedy Oil, too. I use it in lieu of the Damage Remedy leave-in on occasion. Sometimes I use it on top of my leave-in.

I also use it between shampoos to facilitate detangling.

I like it very much. It's extremely light. I only use four drops -- according to directions. I have been working on using up two tiny samples I got from Aveda; they've lasted forever. I purchased a full-size bottle so I won't run out. It's part of my HG arsenal.

I love Aveda products. I've been using a sample of the Dry Remedy Oil and it's fabulous. the oil goes a long way and my sample is lasting a long time. I love the Damage Remedy and have had it in my product rotation ever since it came out. I think Aveda products are great.

This is my staple line. I've been using it for the past three or four years. When I joined LHC, I tried a bunch of other products, but nothing works as wonderfully on my hair like Dry Remedy. It's my holy grail (as you say) too!

That line sounds great, as well, Neoma. :) What made you start using it? I thought you were a CV Shampoo Bar enthusiast?

Synnovea, do you have to clarify very often using this line, or is it fine to use consistently? I've experimented a lot as well with varying degrees of unsuccess, and finally decided to settle on this line and see how it works!

Bunnylake, which of their products do you like best?

Islandgrrl, I'd love to hear more about your results with the dry remedy oil! Is it better than other hair oils that you've tried?

Okay! I'm back. Sorry about that. I like the oil very much, but I'm not sure it's necessarily better than any other oil. I'd doe smell better than any other oil I've ever used and honestly, I think that's why I like it so much. Heavenly!

It's awesome. I was looking for a line with a lot of slip, since my hair tangles horribly. I read reviews and decided to buy it if I could tolerate the fragrance. (Many fragrances give me a migraine.)

I was a shampoo bar enthusiast for a long time. When my hair passed BSL, they stopped working for me consistently. :(

Neoma, migraines from perfumes are one of the reasons that I tried CV bars, too, but I had little luck with them in the first place. Too bad they stopped working -- but, your hair looks stunning! I have not smelled the Damage Remedy nor tried it to see how the conditioner prevents tangles. I was worried about the protein content? I do love the light scent of the Dry Remedy line and find it prevents tangles really well. Sorry for my original post. I got confused.

No, protein has never been an issue for me.:flower:

You know, I never rarely clarify. Before I joined this site, I had very crunchy ends, but I don't know if they were due to damage (I flat ironed the heck out of my hair one new year's eve and needed to chop 6" off) or protein overload. I used the solely the line at this time.

Upon joining TLHC, which was after that chop, I began clarifying 2x a month, and my ends were feeling a lot better, but I can't be sure how much of that had to do with the cut and how much had to do with the clarifying.

Now, although Dry Remedy is my standard, I do mix it up a bit with Trader Joe's TTT shampoo and conditioner as well as Toadstool shampoo and conditioners. So, maybe the variation is the reason why I don't need to clarify anymore.

I just remembered they gave me a sample of the daily repair dry remedy leave in. That, I've really liked. It takes so little but helps a ton with dry ends. Do you rotate products at all?

I used to rotate all the time. Now I follow my Damage Remedy CWC routine (Damage Remedy shampoo/scalp only; whatever conditioner I'm trying to use up/length only; Damage Remedy conditioner/all over) followed by either Damage Remedy leave-in or Dry Remedy Oil 90% of the time. Why? Because it works so darn well for me. No tangles at all after shampooing. For me, that's remarkable, and makes it a routine worth my loyalty.

I'm glad that you have a sample. I'm still working on my two little samples. I haven't had to open the bottle, yet. :flower:

P.S. I love the "big spoon" in your hair. Your hair is gorgeous.

Thanks! You're tempting me to try this line next. ;) I will probably not get the oil, though. I get my argan / sunflower oil to blend so cheaply from Cambden Grey that it would be difficult to justify the dry remedy oil just for a nice scent.

Aww, thank you. I'm really always stunned if people here on LHC compliment my hair! Everyone's hair is so lovely around here and I'm really a newbie. I got the Tolkien sigil 'spoon' on Etsy from AKCWoodworkings and love everything I have from his shop. :)

I've only ever used the Dry Remedy hair masque (i think that's what it is). It's a deep conditioning treatment that I use after shampooing maybe once a week or every two weeks (but lately, it's more like when I remember). I'll wash my hair and then use the masque and put my hair up for the rest of my shower so it has a chance to do its magic. I don't really notice a HUGE difference in the condition of my hair after I use it, and to tell you the truth I actually hate the smell. I actually really love a lot of other Aveda products because I like their rosemary/herbally smell, but this one kind of stinks like a funky rose. Still on the quest for a good deep conditioner, but this one does the trick in the mean time :)

I actually prefer their normal conditioner to the masque in this line! Strangely, I find it more moisturizing and definitely more detangling. Mostly, the Dry Remedy smells like Earl Grey tea to me. Interesting how noses differ! I will say, if you wanted a leave-in treatment, I really do love the Damage Remedy one that we've been chatting about. I need to buy a full bottle of that one, next trim.
