Hi, I'm new to all of the hair terminology and have been trying to figure out my hair type. I've listed myself as 2a but I'm not sure if that is accurate or not. What do you think? Here is a pic of my hair freshly washed and uncombed:

Welcome! :)

I'd say you are 2B/2C. Because I can def. see some loose spirals. If it gets longers those will be very loose curls, methinks.

I say more 2C

I'm thinking 2b/2c. Possibly 2c.

Thank for your input! So is the difference between 2b and 2c the loose curl?

I would say your hair is 2b right now; your hair type might change as it gets longer, though. :hmm:

Pretty much. 2c tends to have more than the odd nape spiral, but it usually looks wavy except at the ends. 2b is decidedly wavy, and 2a is a sort of long wavelength half-hearted wave that seems to mostly comb out if you comb wet.

2a on the NC scale with potential for 2b with different styling/ products: 2c has well formed ringlets at the ends its just looser waves at the roots than 3a.
