I posted this earlier today - http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=1201

I'm a little concerned that the nature of my question made me sound slightly more knowledgable than I am  I do NEED an emulsifier in a conditioner, right? Could anyone educate me on the options please? Pretty pretty please?!

I'm so hopeless, SUCH a novice...

Yes, you do. You had it right in the other thread. Don't worry it's intimidating at first but you get better and better in no time. Another idea is to just buy a base and doctor it up. I'm not sure what suppliers are good in the UK though so I don't know where to reccomend.

Your linky times out on me, but I *love* BTMS in a condish! It is a nice, slippy emulsifier great for hair (Ewax for condish is too tacky IMO). Just make sure you know the recommended %s for use and if you get BTMS or BTMS-50. The BTMS-50 will emulsify using less, so the final product won't be as thick and you have a runnier consistency or have to use other thickeners.
