I am doing the wear hair up for one month challenge. But my hair is only collarbone length. Any ideas for hairstyles? I can only wear the same old boring low pony tail. :( Helpmee? :(

Perhaps a center French braid down to the nape, with the ends tucked under.

Also, small lace braids joined at the center of the back of the head.

Maybe you could do a tails up if your hair is long enough. That is where you twist the hair at the nape of the neck & pin the ends of the hair up with a flex-8 or what ever clip you have.

A peacock twist with a flexi8 or a claw clip? I used foam-covered military-bun foundations a lot at that length too, ( Link (http://www.amazon.com/Sponge-Style-Styling-Maker-Hairclip/dp/B00BN1MPF8) ) it was really simple and quick, and I didn't need any pins or elastics.

One very easy thing to do is to use an octopus clip as a bun cage (www.ehow.com/list_7166508_octopus-clip-hairstyles.html).

Other possibilities:

Cheater's easy hairstick bun (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=25145). I pretty much avoid using elastics anymore (my hair is wimpy), but I did like this quite a bit.

French twist (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=yRpcKYJKI9c) (can secure in various ways-- a Ficcare-type clip is quite secure)

Gibson tuck (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyxmK7KWY-M) (tutorial includes optional accent braid)

Folded braid (http://public.fotki.com/shewhoknows/longhair/my-styles/folded-braid-flexi8.html)

Sock bun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I13J7ArHTkM).

Hairagami (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PEw4mSOzqw)-type tools get harder to use on yourself as hair gets longer, but might work well at your current length. I've seen them at places like Claire's.

I have had great success getting my CBL hair into hairsticks. I thought it would be too short.
I just bought some and the hold and comfort is amazing. I can do french twists and simply buns wrapped around the stick and I like the look. The sticks seem to dress it up. I am going to get some that match some outfits so I am encouraged to wear them more to work and such.

You could braid or twist the sides or bangs and bun the back. That would be pretty also.

I wish I could do a sock bun. My hair is too layered and too thin. Has anyone successfully done one with hair like mine?

I agree with those saying a peacock twist (aka, tails up) is a good option. It's incredibly quick and easy. I basically lived in that from shoulder to just above APL.
