Henna and amla users: pics please?

I'm thinking of adding more amla to my henna mix but it's supposed to tone down the red a lot, right? I've used it before in small amounts so I couldn't tell a difference in color. Does adding more amla make it a reddish brown or completely brown? I really just want to keep my wave intact.
