When you realize that your neck is starting to hurt from your bun 5 minutes after you put it in.

ouch. I'm starting to think my ongoing neck issues might be due in part to the weight of my hair. :(

I've had a stiff neck the past several days. I don't know how much of it is my hair, and how much of it is the fact that I really need to have new pillows, or I've just not been sleeping well. But I put it up today and my neck said nope. So I've got double English braids going on right now.

I find buns are problematic in seats, especially cars.

Not weight, but the pillowy-ness increases head forward postures.
That leads to aches that become chronic.

Yes. I sort of have "holes in headrest for bun" in my desires for a replacement vehicle.
Our old car is making death rattles.

But I go for the kitten in lap look right now, and bun at arrival.

If I'm going to be in a car for any more than about 15 minutes, I just braid my hair, or I wear it down and rebun it when I get to wherever I'm going. I can't wear it bunned on the back of my head when I'm driving for any length of time.
