I still cannot do this, I have tried many times, but each time I pull my hair into the middle it all sticks up- is there any one here who could help me achieve this?

I have watched a ton of youtube videos already but I can't get it right?

Can I ask you what you exactly mean with braided headband? I can find a lot on youtube :') (even though I probably can help you because I kinda suck in hairstyles, but it's worth a try)

Oh, yes! Last year I used to do that! :applause

I start braiding a piece of hair like you normally do. But when you have braided around 3 inch or so, I don't braid it 'down', but 'up'. You know what I mean? If you braid it down, like you normally would, and you put the braid over your head, it looks weird (at least, for me). Does that make any sense? :p

I just did this one which seems to actually suit me for once and its easy to do :)

EDIT: Ahhhh its taken me ages to remove the picture because my internet connection died on me - sorry i removed my photo, but it turned out HUGE and it was ugly that big :(

Can you take a picture of your hair misbehaving? I am not sure what's going wrong with the braids but it's probably something like Dutch vs English

Would this be easier? (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/348325352400719398/) I feel like grabbing random strands from the back would look awkward in the end lol.

Also, I don't understand how a dutch or english braid would change anything since you usually add more hair as you go down with a dutch, and that's not what you should be doing for this style..? But I do agree that a problem pic would help us help you :)

Thanks everyone :)

Johannah my hair looks ridic like I tried something and failed lol

I didn't see the pic- Tini lol I'm sure you looked pretty :) post a smaller one

Seeshami- I'll try next time- I think you are supposed to part your hair on the side but I'm a middle kind of girl

Alishaxmarie- that looks fairly complicated lol, but you don't know until you try

I just thought that maybe the way it's sectioned off would make it easier to bring one or two braids across your head. The image just involved multiple thicker braids using all of the hair whereas your link shows much smaller braids in an x pattern from back to front/side.
